I am proud of myself for persevering through a major heart attack, subsequent heart failure and doing everything possible to get well. I am out of heart failure and very active again...exercise everyday and feeling really well. I am looking forward to 2017...
I can thank @hckynutjohn for being alive. If I had not read his posts I would never have gone to the ER. He also posted about his experience with statins. It changed my mind and now my cholesterol is no longer an issue.
Who knew that reading here could save a life. I will always be thankful for John's wisdom and advice on heart disease.

I'm so happy for you, @Trinity11. Are you saying you stopped statins and no longer have a cholesterol issue?

My precious 97 year old husband passed away just before our birthdays in August. The absolute finest human being I have ever met. There are no words that can adequately describe how badly he is missed. Yet there are times when I know he is right here beside me. I hope these comforting feelings will continue into 2017 and beyond.

@Perkup, I am so sorry for your loss. I believe exactly as you said it...he is right there beside you. May you find comfort in your treasured memories together.

I'm trying to forget 2016.....

I don't want to remember 2016, it was awful.

@Noel7......I know you have had a rough year but you are always someone who looks at the bright side of it and your posts inspired me to get through a difficult year.
Just also wanted to let you know that when you posted about taking a statin it also helped me to make a big decision and go on Lipitor. I figured if John and Noel can do it, so can I. I found the results astonishing....my numbers are actually so low that my physician is thinking of having me take it every other day.
Once again, thanks and please know that you inspired me throughout the year to hang in there. You're a great role model for courage....

Hi, Tansy....thank you. No, I started taking Lipitor and the results were astonishing. Everything is now just where my physician wants it and I have suffered few side effects.

Thank you @Trinity11 I needed that.
My daughter has been sick and suffers greatly with almost continual pain. She was also a passenger in a car accident and suffered a serious concussion. She is so smart and creative, so kind to others and caring. I hate to see her suffer, I would rather it be me.
