I remember driving with all the windows down with hair flying and screaming at each other so we could hear above the road noise.

I can remember DH paying extra for a car heater!(1971)..In NY..we needed a heater more than AC!

I do remember.  Seems like there was no radio either.  Remember old VWs with no gas gauge?  Fun times.
