Today is August 25:  only four months to the big day !

Since I take advantage of phenomenal sales early in the year, I usually package my gifts around Labor Day.  Just so I remember what is in the bag, I have a list ( it also helps me to not repeat items from year to year ).  At this age, the list of recipients has gotten way smaller.

So, I just increase the check amount to my local food banks.  They tell me that larger check amounts go toward the purchase of meat supplies.

Thank you, @jlkz, for your generosity!  Food banks especially need and appreciate donations of money to buy the ham, turkey or chicken that is included with the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. I can't belive how close we are to the big rush.

Re: READY......GET SET......GO

Way too early for me.  I might pick up an item or two but I don't rush through life like that.  It's still summer, I love Fall and everything about it.  That's what I'm thinking about now.  Late October is when I put my Christmas plans into gear...   But I don't decorate until the day after Thanksgiving.

Re: READY......GET SET......GO

My plan is to mail our out of town boxes (4) the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  I'm on schedule gift wise to meet that goal.

I've been shopping some when I've found things I think the recipient(s) will like. And, while doing this, I've still been able to enjoy the summer.

I don't like to be rushed last minute, so I start early. It's all whatever works for each person.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
