So sad.  My brother sent me the New York Daily News with the shooting on the cover, I have it still.  He had recently released Double Fantasy and I was so happy John was back from his hermitage in The Dakota.

 

His death hit me hard.  It was a sort of mini death for all Beatles fans, a "how can this happen?" moment.  

 

It's hard to have a favorite Beatle, but George inches the others out for me.  I love his gentleness, spirituality and solo music.  I also think he was the handsomest.

PS - Above Us Only Sky is a documentary I encourage all fans to watch.

The United States vs John Lennon is also a good documentary about the Nixon Admin's efforts to deport him after he moved to NYC.
