Yes, change is inevitable with most things. You hope that the change would make things better. But, with QVC, the change has been for the worse. Poor CS, lack of quality in their products, lack of variety(I could give you the line up of itkwd without even seeing the program guide). Lack of training for new hosts, and unwatchable hosts too! There are more reasons, those are just a few.

I was recently reading an article about fast fashion...disposable clothing that we are all wearing and how it is filling up the landfills.The quality is definitely lacking as we change out for each season.I have older garments in my closet that were beautifully made and the new stuff does not compare.

I used to watch QVC quite a bit, you could leave it on in the background. There's no way you can do that now - what with the hollering, screaming, dancing, and over-the-top theatrics. A minute or two is about all I can stand.
QVC used to have programs that were interesting in themselves - you didn't have to buy anything, you could just watch and it was enjoyable.
No more.
I remember their "50 in 50" tour, that was quite interesting. I wish they would change their programming style back to a CALMER, more serene style; I think most people would appreciate it!

I've watched since the late 80's. I enjoyed the four hour Sunday night Diamonique shows with Kathy Levine, when Bob Bowersox did the kitchen shows, the lottery with your QVC customer number and winning prizes, the dolls and figurines, Kirk's Folly, etc. It was a lot more creative back then. There was also no vendor co-presenting either unless they were a part of the company, like Jeanne Bice, Marie Osmond, or Jennifer Kirk. Hosts had to know a lot more details of the products they were selling.
What is the worst is the repetitive products, shrill, over-the-top, fast-talking hosts, and expensive prices. Sometimes when I have extra money, I do get something if I really like it. I haven't had any issues with shipping or returning though, and the convienence of browsing and shopping on their site, being able to track packages. And there are some items that you can't find anywhere else, and they do offer a lot more options in things when it comes to colors---those are the pros of QVC.
If they could rein in those certain hosts, and perhaps let them do some shows on their own---not every item needs a vendor to be present, and sometimes things can out of control when two strong personalities are trying to share screen time---then QVC would be even more pleasant to watch.

@YorkieonmyPillowI remember the days when I hated to miss a program because they had so many new interesting things that always sold out.I used to order things that all of my friends and family wanted to know where I got them.

That is so true, I remember the fun fashion jewelry they offered during the Christmas season, unique items I would buy family, friends, and co-workers for Christmas and they would ask where did I get that.....But no more....and not even one gift was purchased from QVC for Christmas.....And I remember fun Autumn/Halloween shows etc etc..........

Well of course change is inevitable, but when changes in a retail entitey are consistently for the worse, there's no harm in saying so. To extrapolate the 'everything changes' adage to a once valuable shopping resource's continued devolution is sort of a disconnect. I agree with you, @Pargy, shopping here is nothing like it once was. That fact is reflected in my purchases here today versus even five years ago, though QVC' backward steps have been going on for a bit longer than five years.

My goodness, lamenting the quality of products offered today, has brought out the mean girls! Since we know nothing about each other, what one has experienced or how they have handled it, perhaps we could stick to our opinion of the products. Being pompous and judgmental is so unbecoming.

I'm sure if Qvc was gone tomorrow everyone including those complaining would be sorry. I hope Qvc is around forever. Of course they are not perfect but neither is Amazon and I don't have to take out a membership and pay $99 per year to get 2 day shipping. I enjoy watching Qvc's video presentations of their products which Amazon will never have and I have had bad experiences with their 3rd party vendors. When I'm not buying at Qvc I go to other retailers both online and offline. The novelty of Amazon has worn off or the bloom has fallen off the rose better describes our family's experience.
