Qustion for the Computer Savvy

Sorry, I asked this question in Nov. but with the holiday coming I apparantly "cleaned up" the information I wrote down. I bought a netbook for an elderly relative. His Microsoft Word is for 3 mos. and I understand there is a free site to access something that functions similarly. He likely wouldn't get much use from Microsoft Word - will be mostly surfing the web. Please help, again. Thanks so much in advance.
