I forgot that they do this in October.
I was glancing through their online selection (some are cute but would hurt my feet) and noticed that 80% of the purchase price goes to benefit breast cancer research and education which is fabulous. I thought in past years that it was 100% of the purchase price. Does anyone remember?

I don't think it's ever been 100%. Seems like I remember that being discussed on here before and it was probably do to costs for the Q to ""handle"" everything.

I thought it was a 100% before too but I still think it' a lot better than products where only a very small percentage is donated.
Congrats to everyone who was able to buy those pink ugg boots before they sold out.

I found an old blog that promoted the Fergie Footwear sold on the Q's FFANY Shoes on Sale back in 2010. It says that 100% of the net proceeds go to breast cancer research.
I don't know.

I saw those Ugg boots too. Pretty color.

There is a difference between net proceeds and purchase price, right?

Yes. But according to the description the 80% of the purchase price excludes s/h and taxes, which would be net proceeds. 80% is still good though but for some reason the Q is now taking 20%.
The description:
All October, shop our full selection of donated shoes below at half their manufacturer’s suggested retail price*, with 80% of the purchase price** benefitting breast cancer research & education. Plus, we have more than shoes!
*Based upon suppliers’ representations of the value. No sales may have been made at these prices.
**Purchase price excludes shipping, handling & tax.

Thanks, Mom.

I specifically remember it being 100% of the net proceeds.
I'm not sure I think net proceeds and purchase price are the same. Wouldn't net proceeds be the proceeds minus s/h, tax, salaries of those involved like the host, crew, etc., overhead for studio use, etc.?
Am I thinking of this wrong?

When the FFANY shoe sale first started, I sat with my phone in hand, dialing every number but the last one, waiting for the perfect shoes, and then I'd hit the last digit. The line was ALWAYS busy so you had to act fast.
I was recently going through my closet and found some of the shoes I bought over the years from the FFANY sales. I found a gorgeous pair of J.Renee very high heels from the early 1990's that I'd kill to wear, but I could never even get them on my feet, let alone walk with them, especially after I broke my foot a few months ago. I also have a pair of Enzo Angelini shoes, and beautiful leather Angelini boots that are like buttah. I know there's more in my closet but I can't reach the boxes.
I looked forward to the FFANY sales for many years, and actually got moist palms while waiting on hold. That's crazy
