Re: Question for the snowbirds...

Winter is my favorite month & I wait for the snow. I love to bundle up in my boots & scarves. As tourist town, we have lots of snow birds who head for the valley in Sept to return in April.

I just read an article today that a lot of seniors are leaving FLA and AZ and moving to the Carolinas.

They couldn't stand the extreme heat and decided to go somewhere a little more temperate.

Hi terrier,

I do not think that applies to "snowbirds"

They are there end of Oct. until end of April, 1st of May.

The heat and humidity are all the other months.

Actually the majority are only there Jan, Feb and March.

Sorry to be late in posting this but just saw statistics, remembered this discussion and thought I'd share {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

HH, not any snowbirds that we know. They are there just as this article says...Oct thru Apr...

"Snowbird season that starts around October and ends around April where elderly folk from northern states (which are known as snowbirds) come down to Florida, Arizona, Texas, anywhere with warm winters- usually it's Florida and Arizona that takes this godforsaken heat- because they hate the cold even though most have lived with it through all their 65+ years of age."
