So why not just zap the offending posts?
Why "punish" others for a few offenders.
It makes no sense if a thread is being moderated.
I don't look at it as we are being "punished." The moderators are taking the initiative to lock it due to the posters who hijack it and turn it into a politicial topic, which the OP clearly asked that we don't do that and most of us honored it. They probably locked it before it got out of hand. What other choice did they have.

@SahmIam wrote:Sadly, the same few keep shoving their insults/opinions/agenda MASKED as "honest" posts in threads that are often very interesting and people want to read. Sad also that the MAJORITY was able to post without using this technique but as always, the same few MUST ruin for the majority.
Thank you. Another interesting thread ruined by the same individuals. Nice.
Mods do what they have to do and as long as there are those who play this game, the mods will have to close threads.
My only question is why the IP address can't be banned by those engaging in this behavior. It doesn't take long for members to recognize the names so....
In any event, there it is.
(1) Because people aren't usually banned for that, for reasons known only to QVC.
2) Because it's easy and simple to have multiple IP addresses.
3) Because 95% of the time, moderators deal in the here and now. The moderators take action based on individual single occurrences the great majority of the time. It is what it is.

To zap the offenders? That's their job isn't it @makena?

Because the moderators are also CS, monitor QVC FB pages and have other jobs we don't know about. They don't always have time to zap every other post in a thread. Sometimes they just don't have time to babysit. And some are more willing to zap individual posts than others, just as some are more willing to close for commenting rather than poof, which I think most posters appreciate.

@Moonchilde And just as we here can recognize the same names popping up as the ones responsible for this cr*p, the same mods are here (how many of use recognize THEIR names?). If you are removing posts by the same people over and over, I'm willing to bet you recognize the name.
As you wisely said, however, we have no idea about the workings of QVC and what goes on regarding the how, what or why of the mods. They do their job and I respect that.

The other choice is to pull the offending posts and let the people who do follow the rules continue with their civil conversation.

It has long been surmised by some of us that in several ways the moderators' hands are tied, so to speak.

It is really a nice thread. It's a shame that one or two ,spoiled it for everyone to enjoy. I'm glad they left it up so people can read it

I didn't post on it but imo that thread was far from innocent.
In some eyes the offenders were the ones starting and continuing it (as someone said a partisan love fest) since I thought anything that even hints at politics is deleted. Just because a few decided to call them on it doesn't mean they were the offenders. Could be why the Mods closed it. Gives both "sides" of the issue leeway.

Has this changed now?
Cody...I'm with you. I must have missed something but did check on that thread earlier today and it looked interesting but I couldn't reply. Was reading from my phone while my car was being serviced.
It was a political thread in fashion clothing lol. Easy to see why it finally met its demise imho.
I read it before all the posts were poofed and I agree @Verdana.
