Up till now, the fanciest thing I ever ordered for food delivery was a pizza. I have never ordered food from a restaurant for delivery. So how does one get to do it? Do I go through a service like Grubhub, DoorDast, etc? Do I order directly from the restaurant? Also if I go through a service, does it include a service charge in addition to the tip? Can someone suggest a service? Suppose it's not in my zip code? Does fast food offer delivery in addition to pick up?

I just go online to the restaurant, order and pick up. I haven't used a service like Grub Hub because I don't want to pay a delivery fee when I have just about every restaurant a person could want within 5-10 minutes of my house. I would rather just hop in my car and go. You can pay be cc and include a tip. You can also order for a specific time at many restaurants.

Restaurant in your area either deliver or don't. I have one Chinese place that delivers - another = nope. Call places that interest you and just ask - doing you deliver?
If you use a service - oh yes, additional charge plus tip.
(if they do deliver - you can read their menu and prices on line)

My daughter (who's staying here helping me) is the queen of ordering everything.
If I say, "I'm craving Chipolte" (like yesterday). She says "Listen out for the delivery guy to get your Chipolte".
Since the virus you can just about get everything ordered.
She orders from everywhere. It isn't cheap but if you hate getting dressed and want to slug it's perfect.
At least once a week (sometimes 2 times) we will order from Outback Steak House (Filet Mignon).
It's excellent. I've ordered Burger King during the height of the virus.
If she's cooking, she'll order an ingredient she forgot on Amazon and where she lives in Denver it takes about 1 hour to get there.
So, this isn't food but maybe a week ago she decided to do some cross stitch. I used to have every color ever made but have done it in a few years. Hence, a color she needed was not in my box of thread.
She texted Michael's Craft store and within 1 hour my Blink camera notified us someone was coming up our driveway. It was (I swear to you) in a small bag was 5 (I just asked her) colors of floss...from..wait for it...Michael's Crafts.
A person never needs to leave their house these days.

I forgot to add that before she came here to help me with my house and broken back; she'd be home in Denver (worked from home) and she'd call me and I'd say, "I'm thinking I'd like to have (whatever) to eat and she'd order it sent to me from her account in Denver.
She's the kind of daughter people dream about. She quit her job so she could come here and help me get to Drs and re-organize my house Clearning out all of the QVC stuff.

Door Dash and Grub Hub pretty much deliver for most restaurants including fast food.

If you don't mind driving, most places have curbside pick up. Order and pay online then when you get there, text them you are there and they come out with your order.

I look at the restaurants web or Facebook page to see if they offer delivery. Then I check if there's a fee or not.

I live too far out of town for most delivery services like GrubHub.
I can order online or by calling directly which I like. Mickey D's, other fast foods you need an App and can pick it up. They'll bring it to your vehicle.
My locally owned steakhouse was early on the curbside pickup method! It it literally saved their store.
