A friend of mine in Atlanta has osteoarthritis and her Orthopod told her she needs a new knee. Apparently, this came on very suddenly one day. She was in a lot of pain and he took an x-ray and told her that she could get a shot. She declined and went home and took Tylenol. She is one of those who doesn't like to take drugs of any kind and was afraid that she would get some kind of reaction to the shot. About a week later, she relented and went for the shot and it didn't do any good. She says she is icing it all the time.
Now, she admits she is in so much pain, she would really like to get the TKR ASAP. She is going to a g/s graduation for the next week and as soon as she gets back, she is going to see the Ortho.
I don't know anything about this but if I remember correctly, the rehab is a b/i/t/c/h..... Is this correct or am I thinking about something else????
