@Witchy Woman...I just wanted to point out that the "white x" is very tiny, so it can easily be missed...It sounds like the problem might vary depending on what type of device/app/browser one is using?...I'm using my PC also and am able to delete the "black box" once the "white x" shows up.

I also wanted to mention that I am not having any problems this morning in viewing any of the "tiny kittens" Facebook pages....the black box/dark shading is not showing up at all, so I'm hoping that the problem has been taken care of...However, I have found it to be intermittent, so one never knows.

I've been reading other threads and posts, and I agree with you, @MyShadowLove.   I think we're seeing different things and it's likely due to different operating systems, devices, browsers, browser addons, software versions, or even certain cookies or supercookies on our devices. 

So, as a result, the solution to the problem will be different depending on which login message we encounter.

I hope you saw the image I posted of what I've seen in the past, so you can compare that with what you're seeing with an "X" in the corner.  So far I haven't seen a "black box," but clearly others are seeing this.   I'll continue to experiment and see if I can make a login message show up for me...  but so far no luck.  If I do,  I'll post screen shots.

@dooBdoo...Yes, I did see the image that you posted and, as Marp mentioned, that is the old popup that used to show but they have changed it...When I posted on this thread a few days ago, I had been getting the "black box" popup and I tried to copy and paste so that you could see the image, but it didn't take.

Interestingly enough, when I just logged on this afternoon and tried to view some of the "tiny kittens Facebook" pages, I am now getting a different popup box...pale gray with Login or Sign Up, etc. requested...However, there is also a "close" at the right-hand bottom of the gray box, so I am able to close out and view the pages fine.

I also just tried to copy and paste the new popup image that I am now getting today, but it turned out a mess, so I'm unable to show you what it looks like....At least, I am able to delete and close out on both of these images, but Facebook keeps it challenging, as one never knows what kind of popup will show up!...LOL

Such is life on the Internet!...It makes me cross-eyed at times!  LOL

@dooBdoo...I had to come back to let you know that, tonight,  I am getting the older popup on Facebook, just like the image you posted....So far this week, I have experienced three different popups and there are times when none show up...It varies even though I use the same browser and PC...I guess Facebook just wants to keep it interesting!...LOL

Also, I just wanted to be sure that you saw my post to you from this morning, as you were interested in the varying images that are showing up on Facebok.

I actually managed to get a login pop-up which is slightly different from the one I posted earlier (the one I posted was from the internet) and I captured a screen shot I'll post later.   It's not a "black box," though.   I'm installing some new software right now, but I'll eventually be back!
