Re: Question Regarding Semipostal Stamp

"Sold at a price of 65 cents per First-Class™ stamp, this stamp is a semipostal. The
price of a semipostal stamp pays for the First-Class™ single-piece postage rate in
effect at the time of purchase plus an amount to fund causes that have been
determined to be in the national public interest. By law, revenue from sales (minus
postage and the reasonable reimbursement of costs to the Postal Service™) is to be
transferred to a selected executive agency or agencies. Net proceeds from this
stamp will be distributed to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which oversees
the National Center for PTSD."

That is pasted from the USPS page on the stamp. The stamp was issued December 2, 2019, so it's not related to the virus. Just FYI.

Re: Question Regarding Semipostal Stamp

No it is definitely not related with the virus. It is in support of helping individuals with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Most people when they hear PTSD associate it with our military personnel but their are other individuals they also have PTSD and need assistance also.

Re: Question Regarding Semipostal Stamp

It is the same as a forever stamp. It will always be good for a 1oz. first class letter.

Re: Question Regarding Semipostal Stamp

I would want to know exactly where or who the money is going to for help with PTSD. My brother has suffered from it since Vietnam and not enough attention is given to it; it is truly just as debilitating as losing an arm or a leg.

@lovesrecess    ...... The USPS website says the proceeds will go to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs which oversees the National Center for PTSD.
