Re: Question About Walmart Grocery Pickup

@Xivambala  @Lindsays Grandma

I had the same problem recently after they updated their app. I finally checked my settings and discovered that when the app updated, data permission for the app turned off. With it off, they can’t track and don’t know when we have arrived. I turned it on and it is working correctly again.

@willdob3 ...I'm not all that computer savvy, how did you turn that feature back on?

@Lindsays Grandma   They can only track you if you have a cell phone. They send me both an email with a link and a text with one. I just click on one and it opens the WalMart app and checks you in. They is when they start tracking you.

The setting to check is in the cell phone. I’ve got an iPhone & just go to settings and scroll down to find the WalMart app, then make sure the data option is on.

Re: Question About Walmart Grocery Pickup

I don't have a SmartPhone and have been using WM grocery pickup for the last few months.  When you pull into a pickup lane there is a number to call.  The last few times I've been there one of the workers has stopped by my car before I even called the number to ask my name so he/she could bring out my order.  Like others have said, they will send you an email when your order is ready, usually a few minutes before your selected time.  I think this is a great service and have been happy with it.  The workers are all very friendly.

Re: Question About Walmart Grocery Pickup

Just an FYI: We've used this 3 times, and it's been helpful. BUT - you may not get everything you put on your list. What is in stock when you order might not be when you pick up. The first time we went, right before Easter, I got 25% of what I wanted. The second, I got about 75%, and the third about 50%. I have trouble when I order any paper products, soda, or cake/brownie mixes.

We do have other options near us. They don't have the selection WM has, but we usually get everything we want. Smiley Happy

Re: Question About Walmart Grocery Pickup

@Lindsays Grandma    The company says no tipping.  The whole parking lot is riddled with cameras.  It occured to me they may observe employees and they could be fired for breaking company policy.  I know Walmart is very strict with their policies.  I wouldn't want to cause that to happen.

@Kachina624 ...It was done very discreetly, trust me.

Re: Question About Walmart Grocery Pickup

I use walmart grocery pick-up every week. The new App did not let me check in this week. It has worked well for me. This last week though my pick-up time was between 7 and 8 PM. I arrived a 7:55 and they were already closed. Luckily one if the workers recognized me as a regular customer and multiple people came out to put my groceries in the car. The lady told me that they did not want to because "they were closed, until they saw it was me". So be careful if you go around closing time.

@Lindsays Grandma  I am so good at that. No one would ever figure it out and I am always happy to tip.

Thanks for all the 'heads-up' ladies.  I am looking forward to my next trip to pick up my groceries.
