Why do people in the forums insIst on comparing QVC and HSN?  They are two different companies.  If you are not happy with one then go shop at the other and stop with the complaining and comparisons.

HSN is owned by QVC. QVC bought them last year....same company, that's why.

QVC doesn't own HSN...both companies along with others are owned by Qurate Retail Group.

Seeing as they are home shopping retailers and Qurate owns both, why not?

Since, HSN has been purchased, quite a few of the products are now the same.  QVC is now selling products that before were only sold on HSN.

People compare companies and brands every day. Why is it such a big deal for HSN to be included in that.

Target vs WalMart.

Macy's vs Penneys.

Grocery store vs grocery store.

ShopHQ vs QVC.

Starbucks vs other coffee shops.

Insurance company vs insurance company.

and the list goes on.

@kitcat51  Yes, QVC owns HSN.  First, they were separate sister companies under Qurate in 2017.  But in 2018 QVC purchased HSN outright.  It was all explained in their financial reports and their stockholder meetings.

They still operate as separate companies, but HSN is owned by QVC.  It's another reason all quarterly financial reports for the past two years are stated as QxH, not separately QVC and HSN.

QVC buys HSN in a move to challenge Amazon. ... Liberty Interactive (QVCA), which owns QVC and already owns 38 percent of HSN, will buy the rest of Home Shopping Network for about $2.6 billion in a stock deal.Jul 7, 2017
