QVC - sending a check ???

I am going to be paying OFF my QVC 'charge card' next week and plan to pay for any further purchases with a personal check from now on. How exactly does that work? Do they send out the purchase BEFORE they receive the check or do they hold it until they receive your check? Thanks ( you can make purchases with a check, can't you?{#emotions_dlg.confused1} )
