I used to like watching the Imperial Gold presentations, though I understand that the rising price of gold pretty much did them in.

I did, too. I have a pair of hoops, but sure would have liked to gotten a ring to go with them.

I got the beautiful initial pendant with the wheat design around it. I get compliments all the time.

Yes! Tiffany inspired table/floor lamps. I don't see (or run across) them around here in B&M stores.......of course, I haven't been actually looking for them.

I remember those and they are beautiful. You lucky devil.

QVC would do great (they sell cookbooks) if they'd lower the prices to compete, and sell CD's, DVD's, more books, etc. I was thinking about it this morning. Our one stop shopping on line could be here, they sell enough in quantity of things, why not these other items? Sell it for less and sell more of it. Same types of things are sold, almost to stepping on each other's toes. We need to give them some other ideas of things we'd like to purchase from them, but it would include lower prices on some stuff, and same on S & H, from what I read here. JMHO

A one-stop shop already exists -- Amazon. There is no way QVC could compete with Amazon's business model due to QVC's overhead.

First, CDs and DVDs are disappearing -- as are printed books. Amazon already has a delivery system for electronic material. For printed books, not only is Amazon able to carry vastly more titles, they can sell them far cheaper than QVC or bookstores. While QVC does sell cookbooks, you will note that they are always cheaper elsewhere, and there are countless comments on these boards by people who go to Amazon to purchase after seeing the books presented here.

QVC, in order to turn a profit, must focus on exclusive brands, high-end items which they can get significant price cuts from manufacturers, and easy pay items that people would be unable to afford otherwise (that QVC then marks up significantly).

While I know there are items that people miss, these items either were not selling or did not have the profit margins for QVC to continue airing. Additionally, some of these items are no longer popular in general, and lack of popularity plus low profit margins equals retail death for these items.

I purchased a small Tiffany inspired lamp some years ago from the Q. It is a very beautiful little piece. Have it on top of my 4 shelf bookcase......and light it every night. It is the one with the hummingbird on it. The colors are just beautiful.

He went to HSN for a while. Don't know what happened after that.

He sold his company and now is semi retired with a lavender product business. He is very active on Facebook.

I do miss his original pieces, but you can snatch them up on eBay for a good price (sometimes) LOL

I miss the VARIETY of shows. The shows that are on today are just redundant. The same old stuff different day....most of which are QVC house brands...Temptations, Susan Graver, etc etc. I also miss the collectable shows, but people today...I should say younger people do not collect as the "older" people do. I wish they would have pursued some international cooking shows featuring items from the countries...Italy, Germany, Spain, Mexico. I am also getting tired of VPH. She brings the same cutesy stuff that you can get in catalogs, and usually at a cheaper price.

Oh, YES! I looked at their on-line site and the products are actually a little higher than the Q's. I've bought a lot of Polish Stonewear but dropped and broke a lid, and there's no replacing it. Every great one in a while, Costco sells it but I've heard that the quality isn't very good.

Polish Stoneware!

So many of us loved that product, and it had to have made $$$ for the Q.

They dropped it in order to feature Temptations which doesn't come close to good stoneware.

Betty, Gloria has a website online where you can order pieces. One time she had a lid giveaway. Maybe she can help you find what you need.
