@Sage04   Agree especially with your last paragraph:

I for one have stopped watching for years but I shop a lot and if the Forums go away, I will still shop. I don't need or want to join another Forum. I have enought going on to keep me busy. Not interested in keeping in touch with anyone here.

I've already noticed that some very frequent posters are no longer posting here and I, for one, do not miss them---LOL!!!

Just yesterday, I learned about a product I wanted by reading these boards. I'd say most posters are over fifty, but to say we are all senior citizens is an exaggeration.

@kaydee50  was responding to something that I said. Everyone is free to say what's on their mind and I did.

IMO, QVC doesn't particularly think of this forum as a valuable tool.  Too few actual customers post here.  And it has to cost something to maintain.  Not enough bang for the buck.  I expect the forums won't last all that much longer but then I think the days are numbered for shopping from TV.  It was a novelty once.  It isn't anymore.

I agree.  It is just a place for people to get together.  I don't think they make much from these forums....

@gertrudecloset @kaydee50

I agree as well. I doubt that this board brings in enough money to cover it's expenses. How many people have you read that post here but don't really shop at the Q anymore?

Off the top off my head I can think of 9 people (3) of which are co-workers that purchase from this site. Some regularly some infrequently. Not one of them posts to this site.

'If I were in charge', I'd take a daily look into these boards.

Even though we are 'a drop in the bucket', we are a cross-section of what folks more or less are thinking re: many subjects, including fashions, electronic items, holiday decor, beauty, food, etc., etc.

Where there's 'us' here, there are thousands, maybe millions more thinking the same.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

If Q is smart, they will keep their base. JCP made the huge mistake of abandoning the base that grew them into such an iconic American brand. As a result,  they are still floundering. Hope someone at Q is watching and learning from that. Same for Macy's and others who did the same thing. It doesn't mean you can't expand and appeal to a younger, different  demographic, but you can't just abandon former customers or you will sink from the bad public opinion.

I have to disagree about Macy's.  Macy's had something for everyone.  For as long as I can remember.  JC Penney had brands people loved (including me) that they got rid of.  They promised it would come back but it was all downhill from there.

Macy's is not loosing a "base" so much as many of these stores are taking a hit due to on line shopping now.  I still can't find plenty I want on macy's dot com.

It is valuable @on the bay this board is a small group, (considering they broadcast to millions of homes) but an important one. I think this board represents the demographic that pays their bills. I know they want to expand to a younger audience, but they can't afford to to lose their base.

I can't imagine anyone under 45 buying "fashions" from the Q, and recently they (especially Denim&Co.) have gotten worse and worse: nasty fabrics, ugly plaids, prints that are way too busy, etc.

If you want cheap, fake jewelry that you won't mind throwing away in about 5 years (or less), this is the place for you. I think the two main D&Co. people have to go. Their schtick with those nasty little varmints wore out its welcome lomg ago...LONG ago.

Some of you may or may not know this, but QVC already has another "forum" a private, by invitation one that is geared towards that.  They pick your brain with questions about this item or idea, surveys, then give you points for participating.  They ask you to post pictures of your home during the holidays and what not, my mom is on it.

well now that you've let the cat out of the bag, tell us more about this super secret forum...kind of sounds like Animal House Woman Very Happy

Macy's just opened a Store about 10 minutes from where I live and it's called "Market by Macy's". Never heard that name before. They said it's a smaller version but  it has everything  the bigger version sells.
