Why are the people on this forum talking about QVC leaving.  I have never heard that before.  I would miss the station, they have some very unique things to offer.  I watch when things are interesting to me.  i hope they are not leaving the air.

People are speculating about the demise of QVC because things aren't going well for the company. Changes may be coming but until we hear something definite I wouldn't spend too much time stewing over this.

Yes there has been some negative financial news.  And people have been posting with much criticism and pessimism, about the company, about it's management.  However, instead of singling out qvc/quarate as the problem / the outlier, why not look at oh so many companies that are having negative financial news.  It's really a larger story than just this one company and to single them out seems very unfair.  Hope it all can turn around.

It's similiar to Posters saying "the Forums are closing, the Forums are closing".

I guess they all have a crystal ball.

Re: QVC Leaving?

[ Edited ]

I don't see anything at all wrong with posters discussing the possible future of Qurate.

Many of us enjoy reading and analyzing the fiscal disclosures and have the right to post opinions as to possible outcomes after looking at the financial results.

It certainly is a popular topic garnering much commentary,  and there is surely nothing wrong with that.  No crystal ball required to interpret balance sheets and income statements.

If these discussions bother you, brace yourself for tomorrow,  be the outcome positive or negative.

@dmeasy    Maybe you should take the time to read about QVC's desperate financial state.  There was a good thread on the subject here yesterday.

It's more serious than just missing a place to shop.  Thousands of people's jobs are on the line.

@Sage04    It's more serious than speculation with a crystal ball.  There's the serious reality of company stock now being next to worthless.  Do you think banks are going to lend them money to buy merchandise?  These things snow-ball.

The infamous James Carville came up with this statement in 1992, and I am quoting.

"It's the economy stupid"

Take it from there if you wish.

Right now QVC is holding onto it's three channels.  We have no idea what it will do tomorrow.

You probably know, QVC is having financial difficulties and what that means on Wall Street.  Nasdaq doesn't like stock going below $1.00 and delisted Qurate.

I doubt QVC will fail if it keeps it's TV programming.  Without TV, it will become any other online retailer. Even more boring.  Oh Where Oh Where are all the brick and mortar stores that I loved to run around checking everything out?

I do not think digital presentations will save QVC.  Besides, other retailers have been offering digital, too.

This company has loyal customers beyond belief who will pull them through even though it might see very troubling times in the future.

@dmeasy   Then watch The Home Shopping Club (HSN).  Same company, different vibe.
