QVC Cart Update can no longer save for even 5 minutes

QVC has now gone the way of HSN whereby when you put something in your cart, continue to view other items to put in your cart, YOU MAY MISS OUT. Leaving anything in your cart for checkout can still be snatched. Happened to me today. QVC has done a web update.

I put 4 items in my cart of a particular outfit with all the separate pieces. When i checked out 5 minutes later, 2 pieces were sold out and taken from my cart. Rather outrageous as you cannot even put together an outfit, without it being taken away during checkout.

The hosts always say to check out because items aren't yours until you buy them. However, QVC may lose customers if you can't even have 5 minutes to check out other items you're considering buying.

So each item you may want will have to be ordered separately?

That's a little extreme, even for QVC.

I have shopped with QVC for so long that it definitely has become a habit. In other words, I find myself only looking to QVC for clothes. This might be yet another reason to start shopping elsewhere. This just adds to the frantic "it's going to sell out" routine, in my opinion. I think this is ridiculous.

@Hoping for the best When you go to your cart it states very clearly that "Items in your cart are not on hold".

As far as I know it's always been this way. If the item stays "available" it will remain in your cart for an hour. But if someone else buys the same size/color, whatever, and it's the last one it's gone!

No. As early as last week, mine still said it would be in my cart for an hour.

it is now 6:20 et.

i put something in my cart.

will check back in about 15 minutes to see if it is still there.

That's nothing new. It's in your cart, someone wants it, you lose it. If no one wants it, it stays in your cart for an hour. I don't blame QVC. Why should they lose?

Company websites monitor inventory. If it's not sold, then others can purchase whether it's in your cart or not. QVC should have this ability.

oops, life got in the way and i got distracted.

not sure how long it stayed in my cart, but now it is in my saved items.
