Thanks for the warning Buck-i. Sorry this happened to you and the response you received--rather the response you DIDN'T receive from the Q--is inexcusable.

I'm really glad you were able to get in there to cancel the orders! A smarter thief would have, however the heck s/he got into your account, changed the email address precluding you from accessing your own account. You wouldn't even know that somebody had done that until you got your bill, or accessed your account.

I had it go down that way at buy.com a while back. Somebody had gotten into my account, changed the password, and made a purchase. I was fortunate to have found out about it immediately and called buy.com. They were able to stop the order and just close the account so that if I go back there again I will need to open a new account. But at least the thief didn't get any merchandise shipped.

OMG, how awful. Buck-i, I'm so sorry this happened to you!

Did those items show up on your "Order Status"?

Yup, and I immediately cancelled them.

Just got off the phone with QVC finance department. Not feeling reassured other than they have flagged my account and any attempted changes, any change to ship to or any excessive or unusual orders will require confirmation.

She "claimed" that QVC was updating their "Outlook" program that resulted in the major system outage. Coincidental? Well, I don't believe in coincidences!

Really considering closing my QVC account.

Once again (I remember reading this same story from others about a year ago after the last big QVC.com outage) the QVC rep insists that my card info wasn't hacked, only my account was accessed so my information is still secure. Now why don't I believe that?

It doesn't sound like a coincidence, Buck.

Well, big day here. Though not starting out well, it's guaranteed to improve.

I have to go get ready to attend my son's Master's degree graduation ceremony! Woo Hoo.

I'll check back later today. Have a good day all and keep close eye on your accounts!

Thanks for that information, Buck-I! I do check that routinely, mostly to see if an item has even been shipped yet, lol.

Congratulations on your son's graduation
