IMO .... the only way QVC can draw huge numbers of young people was if they had TAYLOR SWIFT come on with her new fashion line, exclusive to QVC.
IMO ... THAT would sell. LOL ![]()

@SaveTheTurtles wrote:I don't think the demographic is younger either and agree with you @cheriere. The fashions are not aimed at the younger crowd in the least. I don't believe they ever were. I honestly don't know who their demographic is anymore
I don't know either anymore either lol 😂

@SandySparkles wrote:I believe they are now attempting to attract a younger audience, and it makes perfect business sense since their most RELIABLE demographic is aging!😁 Our buying power is a given, but the more youthful consumers have SO many more options available to them. The Q has NO choice but to try to compete for their shopping dollars.😊 Some of the designers like Kim Gravel, are now offering fashions that appeal to both.🥰
I have never done so, but I have seen other posters recommend messaging specific designers with suggestions on their social media pages. I think Louis Dell'Olio and a few others through the years have responded favorably and offered some of the requested items; longer length, shorter length, more colors, etc...🥰
Perhaps The Q will too.🤞🤞

Of course we should ask, but it's never a sure thing.
I can't remember who it was, but some vendor made an offhand comment that even if WE asked repeatedly for some specific style, if the QVC buyer didn't want it, it never came in.
@Tinkrbl44 WOW!😮 Shame on that vendor!!! I know Valerie has mentioned multiple times that she designed or changed a specific thing about an item based on suggestions and feedback from viewers. They could all take a page out of her gracious book.😁 Gary Goben has as well, so THANKFULLY some of them listen.🥰

I am a huge Instagram person so I follow a lot of host and even their daughters. They are never in QVC clothing unless they are promoting it for their upcoming shows. The young host including the 40 year olds are in Lululemon, Prada, Nike, Channel and the like.

@cheriere wrote:Lately, I've read several forum posters talking about how QVC is trying to attract & sell to a Younger & More Luxury Oriented Demographic.
I personally, don't think a Younger Demographic is what they're aiming for based on the Fashions being presented and what the designers and hosts are even saying.
While I don't mind an elbow sleeve or two, they present an awful lot. I really have to search for a youthful short sleeve or tank that's not fly away or really long. Same with shorts. I don't want short shorts, but I'd also like to see options other than Bermudas. Same with Swim Dresses. I wish they'd also offer a few more tankinis or two piece styles.
The hosts are always commenting on how jackets, shirts, shorts, and skirts aren't cropped or cut like you find 20 & 30 something's looking to purchase offered at retail too.
While sadly, I'm not young anymore. I enjoy shopping with QVC & like some things I see. However, I would like to see a few more items like I mentioned. Not crazy cut pieces, but regular fitted items.
I think this is sometimes why I get frustrated at High prices trying to be explained away; especially for a dowdy looking floral pattern, cut, or regular fabric among other things. I feel like sometimes they're putting Luxury prices on Non Luxurious Garments.
Sorry for this long post, I just wondered if anyone else has noticed this? 💝🌸
It's interesting how they plan to attract a customer base that is accustomed to shopping in other ways.
Back in the day, before the internet, the online retailers really had their heyday. It was shopping malls, catalog ordering and TV retailers.
Fast forward to today. Everything costs more for several reasons. Keeping in mind the return rate percentage on any garment, offering unusual styles and cuts of clothing to add variety, the returns will jump.
Any time I buy something "different" because i might like a change .... I always send it back. But, that's just me.
What's "safer" from a profit standpoint are the classics ... casual slacks, tee shirts, athletic and casual shoes, handbags, etc.
Of course, the same boring classic stuff gets old ... and doesn't inspire my ordering what I can buy locally.
I'd hate to be running an online retailer now. You can do everything right, and it's still wrong. What an unpredictable and challenging job! Yikes.
That's why I don't think the customer demographic will ever change for QVC. I don't think they have any intentions of trying to change. They'll always make money selling to older people, but what older people like HAS changed. This is the problem.
For some reason though, people like to post about QVC changing direction and going younger and more luxurious lol.🌸

They would like a younger demographic, but that won't happen soon. My granddaughters are 34, 29,23 and 19. The only thing they really adore is the jewelry I BUY THEM , lol. They don't have the money. They make decent money, but they are in California, high rents . Also, every one of their friends wouldn't be buying from TV. As they are in the same boat. They are working, traveling, in school, studying or taking care of a baby and working. They do buy from TV sort of, everything they see advertised on TV they go to Amazon and but it whether it is pan, deodorant, skin care
QVC has the best jewelry, they can please every age group. But clothes, no. Also, what I found is the kids don't like like shipping charges, lol. They buy online, catalogues and what ever they buy they don't pay shipping. My grands age group seems to like Etsy, thrift shopping, they all live in thrift shops. Their style this year seems very 80's, and 90's. For me, been there, done that...or I thpstill have some good pieces form 60's, 70's,90's and 2000. In fact not many clothes they are selling now do I like. I just took a bunch of my old, unique arty clothes from 90's and 200's to tailor and had altered. I love skirts, and boy did I have lots I never parted with. And quality. Made in USA clothes before the imports started.
Boy! did I veer off topic, but oh well, just call me Emily Latella

Im so glad you kept your nice clothes and was able to take them to the tailor. I'd do the same.😃
I completely agree with you too regarding the demographic the Q attracts now and will continue to attract. It's really too bad they won't make any changes.
Jewelry and beauty products are items the Q can be depended on for great gifts anyone would love.
Thank you for sharing this.💝🌸
