I think they (QVC) will want to stick with it.  The boomers are dying off, but the younger generations are aging, so they'll go to QVC.  I don't know about middle age women that are still working and thin like me.  I can wear the younger tops. I've been buying them for years. As QVC tops are too long.   Just as well  QVC keeps the clothes casual, as retirees are their biggest buyers.

I live at Zara, Ann Taylor, The Loft, etc. Don't really go to the stores.  I order them online.

Here's my 2 cents:

Many shoppers here are not in their 20's and 30's, but older with more expendable income.  Possibly retired, kids gone.  People younger are at work, tending the kids, no time for QVC shopping.

Well that's what I always thought too.  That's why I've been confused by posts saying QVC is aiming for a new, young audience.  I just can't ever see that happening.

@cheriere  @Another new name Sue

To put it bluntly, in 20 years many of us will no long shopping anywhere and they're going to have to find new customers to replace us.

I see evidence of this in the nonsensical behavior of the hosts, the endless supply of sleeveless long dresses and the emphasis on jeans, in every color and style, among other things.

I agree that the younger people are not tuned to shopping on TV.  So what should QVC  do to lure them in?  I'm sure they've had and will continue to have multiple committees working on this issue.

Well, I don't think they'll ever lure them in.  However I know what I'd like to see at least more of and I'm 51 lol.   Id like offering some more modern, less dowdy prints and styling changes in the cut of garments.  A few more short sleeves and tanks that are more fitted, as well as adding some two piece swimsuits to the lineup.

I don't personally think 20 & 30 something's will ever buy based on the selections.  I'm just always coming upon posts in threads saying how the Q is gearing toward a younger, more luxury focused shopper lol.🌸

Re: QVC Buyer Demographic

[ Edited ]

I don't think it's just about age as much as it's about refresh of one's style.

I'm in my early 60's. Most of what I see on QVC as far as their clothes and shoes could very well be for my age and older, but most certainly not my style.

I love rolled cuffed jeans and short (not cropped) jackets and v-neck tops.  I like a good pitch on my sandals, not flat or block platform shoes, or back-strap velcro sandals.  I like tankini's and attractive one-piece bathing suits, not long-skirted swim dresses.  I don't own one shrug or poncho top.

There's nothing wrong with anyone's personal style.  It's just that a large percent of what I see on QVC is not for me.  That's OK, I shop at a lot of different places.

I do love some items in some brands here, that's why I still like shopping at QVC.

@cheriere

I don't wear short sleeves because I want my elbows covered because I sometimes get a skin autoimmune flare-up and also my arms are not as tight looking as they once were.  Even in hot weather, guess I've gotten used to it.

Also I refused to buy any CCB because I don't like her.

I think flower prints are not necessarily dowdy.  The same patterned clothes may look adorable on a young person may look dowdy on me due to my age (mid 60's).  I don't see how QVC will survive going into the future as the older shoppers die off..sounds a little cold but true.

Lastly, awwww, please don't say "Sadly, I'm not young anymore".  Don't be sad about that ❤️😃❤️

Lol, thank you...but I don't look or feel it sometimes lol.

I understand your concern, especially dealing with autoimmune issues.  I'm sorry.💝🌸  I have RA, but it really doesn't effect my skin, just bones.  But my skin isn't the same either as far as creepiness.
I never bought anything from the CCB line.  I thought it looked to 1980s and cutesy lol.

I always appreciate reading your thoughts.  Thank you for sharing.💝🌸

@cheriere  Hi Cheriere! I feel the exact same way. I couldn't express it better. There are so many huge (ummmm.....not pretty) floral tops, strange cut shorts, beach pants, etc. Not many are my styling either. I don't need a lot of clothes presently, but there aren't many that hold my interest either. And yes, we ALL know we can shop elsewhere. But like you, I find the Q to be easy to shop on and had good luck back in the day.

I personally do not care for elbow sleeves, especially if they are not more tailored or fitted.  A loose elbow sleeve is just too matronly looking, and I am no spring chicken. Just give me  regular short sleeves instead.

Too many crop pants being shown.  No matter what they say about dressing up crop pants, (and hosts wearing them with heels) ain't gonna happen.  I live in southern AZ, I wear skirts in the summer or long pants.  The two extra inches to make crop pants full length is not going to cause me heat stroke. Just my personal preference.

I don't worry about looking "matronly" because y'all mean OLD when you say it, and I'm old and gonna fool nobody.

Delighted to be old rather than under the grass!  Woman LOL
