@Estellee This is the younger shopper. QVC is no longer targeting 70 & older as their mainstay. The 50 & older is their younger target market.
Currently, in their financial reports that anyone can look up, they say their core customer is in her early 60's. So they're trying to expand that core customer group by purposefully marketing to this younger base of shoppers.
Not once did they say younger meant 20's & 30's. Younger for QVC is more of the 50's age range.

@Caaareful Shopper Just wondered why 50 & older. 20's, 30's, 40's to me is more long term future customers. Guess that doesn't matter right now.

@Estellee To their credit, I think QVC knows 20's & 30's are not about to look to QVC for their shopping. Probably not ever.
QVC has been lampooned too many times (SNL, youtube skits, etc) because of their reputation of catering to older women.
It's much smarter to try to broaden their current shopper base to stay relevant and in business.

Lol, thank you. Believe me though I always say I'm the most outta shape thin person you've ever seen.😂
I completely agree that young people are never going to buy the clothes offered here. I don't know why I keep reading posts saying that's their new strategy, thus another reason for higher prices lol.
Funny enough, in that picture I'm QVC head to toe, PLW clearance jeans, Belle tank top, Fly London Shoes! Only my friends here would understand this outfit lol.😃🌸
I missed your picture! Can you direct me to it. I would be embarrassed to say how much time I have spent searching online for new tank tops. Something is always wrong--the straps are too thick, too long, too clingy, you get the picture. I would love to see yours! Thank you!
Your op is spot on. I have been in and out of this board for a long time. What QVC has not taken into consideration is the aging out of the QVC customer. They are no longer buying a new Dooney & Bourke handbag every month. Nor have they considered that 50 is the new 30 and women are looking for styles that reflect that.
I have said it before and I will repeat it. These forums are a wonderful way for QVC to hear what women want. If only they would listen.

You should be able to see it under the pictures section if you click on my name. However, I did try to half tuck it unsuccessfully lol😂
Theyre sorta roomy though. They did come in a two pack within the Belle line.

Thank you for directing me to the photo. You should be a model! You are a beautiful woman--inside and out.💕
You might be taller than I anticipated. I am not short (5'5") but I am short-waisted with long legs. I find petite tops fit me best,

Oh my goodness, you're way too kind. Thank you for making my day, week, year! 💝🌸
Im 5'8 and have long legs for my body too. I'd never considered petite tops before, but you may be on to something. Nearly all the tanks like logo are way too long on me. They look silly.

@SandySparkles wrote:I believe they are now attempting to attract a younger audience, and it makes perfect business sense since their most RELIABLE demographic is aging!😁 Our buying power is a given, but the more youthful consumers have SO many more options available to them. The Q has NO choice but to try to compete for their shopping dollars.😊 Some of the designers like Kim Gravel, are now offering fashions that appeal to both.🥰
I have never done so, but I have seen other posters recommend messaging specific designers with suggestions on their social media pages. I think Louis Dell'Olio and a few others through the years have responded favorably and offered some of the requested items; longer length, shorter length, more colors, etc...🥰
Perhaps The Q will too.🤞🤞
~~~All we neeed is LOVE💖
Of course we should ask, but it's never a sure thing.
I can't remember who it was, but some vendor made an offhand comment that even if WE asked repeatedly for some specific style, if the QVC buyer didn't want it, it never came in.
@Tinkrbl44 WOW!😮 Shame on that vendor!!! I know Valerie has mentioned multiple times that she designed or changed a specific thing about an item based on suggestions and feedback from viewers. They could all take a page out of her gracious book.😁 Gary Goben has as well, so THANKFULLY some of them listen.🥰
~~~All we need is LOVE💖
That vendor's point was viewer requests can't always be honored. Even if viewers make requests on here, or FB or wherever, if QVC decides they don't want that item included, it never comes in the door and is never presented or put on the QVC website.
The vendors don't have the freedom to bring in whatever they want, no matter how well they think it might sell.
