I have been registered to vote my entire adult life, voted in 2024 as I do every four years, etc. I sent in payment for my driver's license renewal, just received my license sticker, but my check was returned and voter registration form sent.
Since when does an already registered voter have to register again, never happened before, and makes no sense.

It's probably something that's just stuffed into every envelope.

I've gotten one in my envelope every time I've needed to renew my license.
Been registered since age 18.
Decades of getting them, lol!
I'm in Michigan.
It's normal. You're still registered. Just disregard it.

Is there a website where you can check your voter status? We can check our status online as well as update party, address etc in Arizona.

@CelticCrafter. I agree. They may not have access to voter registration files since it's none of their business, and just send a form to everyone hoping it'll be used by someone. They wouldn't have time to look everyone up even if they could.

We live in PA and this happened to my husband. He went to the DMV in person to get his license renewed and a new pic taken.
He was told he would have to re-register to vote even though he has been registered since 1972. So he did.
About 10 days later he got a registration card for voting. Neither of us ever had a voting card before.
Must be something new.

Why worry about it. Check your voter status at your state auditor's office and move on.
I get those forms from a couple of places. It's just a normal stuffer. Not a big deal.

@mousiegirl, please clarify something for me. You said your check was returned and a voter registration form sent. Do you mean DMV returned the check uncashed or your check was cleared by your bank and returned to you?
Also, are you in a state that made voter registration requirement changes? If so that may be a reason for the form but the form could also simply be an envelope stuffer that goes with all DMV mailings.
If the check was not cashed even though you have the renewal sticker you need to verify the status of your driver license (and voter registration). DMV may have confused you with another registrant/applicant.
To verify your driver license it might be easiest to go to your local police department, explain the situation and ask them to check your license status.

Thanks everyone. My check was returned by the DMV because I didn't fill out the form, which I did not receive when I received the payment notice, so will just return the check and see what happens.
