Times have changed and people shop differently now.  Some of my favorite places I used to love to shop no longer exist.  I'm also getting older and my wants and needs are different than when I first started watching the Q.

I don't watch or even buy like I use to.  No matter what they do to boost sales, for me, I have moved on. There was a time I just loved watching.  Obsessed I would say.

Thank you for that info.  I hope they make it!  Yes, things are not what they used to be..as in prices and quality, but I hope they have a chance to get their financial situation in a place where they can make some changes and go forward.

I also hope they can make it. 5 Billion debt is really astonishing how they let it get to that point! AND as the podcast I mentioned above addresses...also astonishing QVC, not only hasn't let this CEO go already but just apparently, renewed his contract.

As for the high prices everyone keeps mentioning...the podcast has addressed this often also...saying...QVC has increased their product margins to try to mitigate the losses overall, and debt...therefore the consumer is overpaying now, for them to try to make up for all their problems. Which, once I heard that...I knew...time to pull back here, which I'd already done, (I always shop around for best pricing)...because I don't need to be overpaying for anything, and certainly not to mitigate their bad businesses choices.

All that said...I hope they figure it out.

Also, hope the boards are here for a while...and maybe if they go to only online...maybe (probably not a priority, at ALL for them) they could still keep the boards since it's all online anyway? Just a thought.

Problem is, only approximately 10% of the companies that file for

chapter 11, survive.  QVC, will have a tough road ahead of them.

Yes!  Keep these boards going, no matter what !

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@Largoman  I think QVC will survive.  It's just it may end up being different, and old timers need to adjust to that. I started watching in 1989, but stopped watching tv 2002.  Product/venders, quality was just changing then. The internet was going wild with things I needed or wanted elsewhere, lol.
QVC needs help being able to pay vendors, and channel new ones in. I think shoppers will always want or need Televison shopping. They do need different presentations, varied products and products for all income brackets, even high end. There is a market

I stopped watching QVC a long time ago. I stopped for various reasons. I don't like the hard sell, I can find nicer quality items at less of a price elsewhere. I shop a lot at Macy's and Nordstrom, Costco, LLBean, Lands End and Sams Club.

Those are my go to places. I spend more at LLBean for items but the quailty is so much better. I live in LLBean pants and Pima Cotton shirts. Their Pima Cotton shirts are 100% cotton. I don't tumble dry them, hang them to dry and they come out perfect.

I get many nice things are Macy's too.

I can easily find more quality items at those places. QVC, not so much. For example, I purchased a Barefoot Dreams tunic in December, after washing it, the neck seam has a hole it it. For $80, I expect more.

I hope QVC can pull through.

I do notice that they are having better deals now, sales, free shipping, coupons. I did purchase some L' Occitane oil last week with a coupon. With that coupon, I got it a few dollars less than I can get it elsewhere.

People are going to shop around for the best products at the best price.

@conlt   I am in the same shopping boat as you.  Nordies is my go to. Free 2 day ship, free retirns, generous exchange policy.  I find prices there low, many sales everyday.  better quality on most items. I also make use of half yearly sales, plan ahead. I love the idea off QVC and for many, many years I shopped their solely. But I have found last 20 years sizing way off, clothes, shoes everything. Quality is not there. The prices are okay, but I get better quality for less money or same elsewhere  . If a person wants easy pay, that is available everywhere.   Mainly I cannot handle the host/ vendor set up. They talk the whole time, idle cut and yet only have a few items,  way too slow for me. This is my NO1 peeve.  The clothes are not my style, and I have made a commitment to only buying USA clothing since 2015.    just a quirk. I can buy online at other stores and never have problem with fit. qVC just has their vanity sizing, and each vendor has different size. The measurement chart has never worked for me,  I shouldn't have to spend that much time...or I don't want to. Another thing is shipping fees, no rewards, and wagon train shipping time. But they serve a purpose, definatley serve a group that just can't get to stores, or even hhave them. It is entertainment and company while shopping for many. I wish them the best

I think also there will be a market for tv retail.

It may be much smaller than the Q, but there is money to be made, and there will be some rich opportunist to take advantage.

I spent a fair amount here years ago when my knees were bone-on-bone and I wore a larger size.

Do we need the vendors telling how great their products are? Do we need such loooong presentations?

I think for the Q to survive they must follow the paths of other companies.

Maybe they will bring in a "fixer" they will make the necessary changes. I have heard of other large companies doing that.

Maybe the Q has to VERP some employees. And I don't mean just hosts. Maybe the Q is top heavy.

Some very hard decisions need to be made and should be made and I don't think some at QVC would like the sensible solutions TBH.
