The Q has been in trouble for years.

And there are several threads about it here.

Give it time.    Maybe WM or AMZ could buy a controlling interest...and expand their presence with the trademarked items

Re: Q in trouble?

[ Edited ]

"QVC and HSN, has entered into preliminary discussions with its creditors aimed at restructuring its substantial debt obligations. These negotiations are unfolding against a backdrop of operational challenges and could potentially lead to a formal bankruptcy filing under Chapter 11 protections.

Financial disclosures reveal the extent of QVC’s indebtedness. As of the end of September, the company reported approximately $6.6 billion"

"...shares of QVC plummeted by 66 percent in a single trading session, closing at $3.74 per share."

"The potential for a Chapter 11 filing introduces several scenarios for QVC’s future. Such a process would allow the company to reorganize its debts while continuing operations, potentially emerging leaner and more focused on digital integration."

Do we need the vendors telling how great their products are? Do we need such loooong presentations?

I think for the Q to survive they must follow the paths of other companies.

Maybe they will bring in a "fixer" they will make the necessary changes. I have heard of other large companies doing that.

Maybe the Q has to VERP some employees. And I don't mean just hosts. Maybe the Q is top heavy.

I keep on dancin'

Re: Q in trouble?

[ Edited ]

Since the other thread got taken down on this topic, b'cuz of a live link...I'll repeat my comment here for anyone interested in this...

Shawn Wilsey's last two episodes of his podcast, "Are We On The Air" discuss this in depth, and with Marvin Segal, QVC's founder's son, who is often a guest and always interesting.

Lots of delving into the changes in the business model, the debt, the lack of "pivoting" in a changing cable tv to streaming world, what might be done, options going forward...all of it broken down. They've discussed this looming debt before and that it was "coming due" in 2026, projecting that, likely this year changes of some kind would need to happen. So...something will likely have to happen to course correct, change etc if they survive. Too bad because he gave examples other channels did to pivot, that are actually, apparently turning a profit, that he suggested QVC do, in the past, but they haven't. Anyhow...leaving this here case anyone's interested.

His podcast is on Spotify, Apple podcasts etc.

Always an interesting inside baseball look at Q and various homeshopping networks.

Thank you for that info.  I hope they make it!  Yes, things are not what they used to be..as in prices and quality, but I hope they have a chance to get their financial situation in a place where they can make some changes and go forward.

It's not vendors, long presentations or singing and yelling. TV shopping is dead. It's a

dated platform.

@Judaline

Apparently you haven't looked hard enough.

I still see several active threads on the subject.
