Pug Mix Sheds Terribly, Help!!!

I have had a pug-chihuahua mix for just over a year and she sheds terribly every day. Vet suggested oatmeal shampoo. Doesn't help. Brushing her doesn't help. She actually walks through a room and the hair can be seen flying off of her. Hair is on furniture, hardwood floors, clothes, everywhere. Does anyone know of a good dog shampoo or any other remedy for this. I'd be very grateful for suggestions.
