The hook is risky, too. People have reached over the door, grapped the purse and ran. I notice some hooks are halfway down the door now, I think for this reason.

Lulu, a good friend of mine has to go all the time. We will be out for a few hours and she will go at least 3 or 4 times.

Long flights are tough. Airplanes are the worst...

I wouldn't think of putting my purse on the floor of a toilet stall or even on the floor by the table in a restaurant. It goes on a hook in the stall or around my neck and over the back of the chair in a restaurant and then my jacket over that. Heck, I've been in a toilet stall and seen women in the next stall put their coat on the floor. Now, I would just love to think of wearing that after it's cleaned the floor of a toilet stall!

I try very hard to not use public restrooms - if absolutely necessary I will often leave my purse at the table with my DH -or if I'm alone I will lock it in the car and just take the keys. Having had 42 years of practice having to ""hold it"" for long periods of time when I was working as a nurse I usually can get away with not using public restrooms very often. i have already worked a 12 hour shift and only went to the restroom once - and even then had a doctor pounding on the door asking me about patients labs ( because somehow they got through med school despite that they are illiterate and unable to read the lab results themself).

I hang it on the back of the door on the hook if they have one. On the rare occasion they don't. I hold it on my shoulder or even loop it over my neck.

No way is my purse hitting the floor!

I know this may not be a popular opinion but I totally agree with you on the MDs. I have worked with MD's for over 27 years Medical and Psychiatric and how they function without hand holding is beyond me. Famous words of many "you do..I sign..." Of late I have been working with some younger ones and much better about doing their own work, and even are good with the computer. The older MD's..forget - not up on technology even though Orders, Consults, Forms, Assessments are all automated..scarey! Thank goodness for support staff to help.

where i worked there were many issues where doctors claimed the nurses incorrectly wrote verbal orders (oddly it was always the same doctors) so when we went up on electronic records they were all taught how to put their own orders in the computer and how to do their own orders remotely. They constantly wanted the nurses to do the orders for them but we all stood our ground and made them do it themselves. We explained to them that a few rotten apples among their ranks had caused this and they should not take it out on us that this had happened.It was a long time before they finally started to accept it.

As for the purse thing I have already held my purse in my teeth because the handles were too short to go over my neck and there was no where to hang it.

Don't drink a lot of fluids before you go out.
