Re: Public restrooms and purses

I get woozy at the thought of putting my bag on the floor in a bathroom or anywhere!

If there is not a hook to my liking, it goes around my neck. No question!

I am a freak about public restrooms. {#emotions_dlg.bored}

Re: Public restrooms and purses

On the floor of a public bathroom? Are you joking? Do you know how much urine alone is on that floor plus god knows what else? I usually wear a cross body purse. If not, it goes around my neck like others have said.

I try at all cost not to touch anything in there with my hands. I'll use tissue to open the stall door and lock it, and also to turn on the faucets. I always wear pants and also roll up each leg so they won't touch the floor when I pull them down. Once you've washed your hands, if you open the bathroom door to exit then you've just re-contaminated them. I'll use my body to push doors open.

Re: Public restrooms and purses

The only reason that I ever go into a public restroom is to wash my hands. Even then, I don't put my purse on the counter. Either somebody holds it or I have a cross-body on.

And I keep paper towels in my hands to turn on the faucet and to hold the door open when I leave.

Re: Public restrooms and purses

Believe it or not, the filthiest part of a public restroom is not the toilet area. It's the bathroom door leading out of the bathroom. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't be careful, but for cryin' out loud, if you use reasonable caution you will be just fine.

I always hang mine around my neck if there are no double hooks on the door. All my purses are the cross body bag.

Really? What's your secret to never having to go while out and about?

I make sure to go before I leave the house. I have a very strong bladder and can hold it a long time. I do go out - LOL

Re: Public restrooms and purses

I never put my purse on any floor, and never put my purse on my kitchen counters or dining table at home.

Way too many germs picked up on purses.

I am SO envious. I swear my bladder never passed a public rest room it didn't want to visit. When I fly, I stop drinking the night before so I do not have to use the rest room. (but it's tough on an overseas flight)
