While a baby elephant is nursing, two other elephant aunties surround its backside to protect the little one. The mother is hidden by the two guardians.

A different angle. One guardian is munching on a tree branch for a little snack herself.

@On It    Another beautiful picture from nature.  How fitting for International Women's Day too!  I love and admire the way these magnificent creatures pull together, caring for one another.  We can all learn from this.😊❤️💝

Love the picture.  Moms, aunties and grands care for little ones.

...so precious!    My GD probably thinks the same thing. She has a new baby (which makes me a great grandmother) and our family tends to "hover". We're popping in at her house constantly (she's next door to me - yayyy) and we want to see every little yawn, every little "squeak" and basically to bask in this beautiful miracle of life. We can learn a lot from this mama elephant...

When we went on our African safari in January 2020, our jeep came very close to a group of elephants.  There were two babies there, and they started to "play" with each other.  It was so cute. I got great photos and video of it.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead

They are so protective, loving and nurturing of their precious little ones. They are highly intelligent and empathetic, majestic creatures. Thank you for sharing these wonderful images!
