Project Linus: Homemade blankets for non-profit

Is anyone associated with Project Linus? It's a national organization (with local chapters) that donate homemade blankets for children, etc. I have a knitting machine that was gifted to me 20+ yrs ago...I unearthed it yesterday thinking I would donate it, but....maybe I could make some blankets for a non-profit??!

If you've made blankets for any non-profit, I would love to hear your experiences!

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law knit and crochet blankets for this but I don't know any details as they live in another state. They make a few each fall/winter in the evening while watching tv or relaxing.
