This article says that last year there was a lot of celery which cause prices to drop to a very low level. That caused growers to grow less celery this year, so smaller supply and higher prices.

I shop at Fry's and there is no shortage of any kind of Produce. I think that produce manager has been smoking Cilantro wrapped in lettuce leaves. Because as of yet, there is no Border Situation ![]()

I will reword my post. Celery juicing is very popular with many benefits. Sorry, I used the wrong wording.

No shortage of fresh produce here. Perhaps your chain is in the midst of switching suppliers. Or maybe just something mundane like a semi late, or overturned on the z-way somewhere.

It is a HUGE social media fad...celery juicing.
The author ‘Medical Medium’, is having his moment in the sun
right now and celery can’t be kept on the shelves.
Give it another 6 months & it will be over.

Celery shortage in the OP's stores have absolutely nothing to do with the border situation.
If that were true, then there would be no produce coming in from Mexico at all.
The price of celery is expected to keep rising this summer; weather cut the supply and demand is high.
Basic, not political.
Nice try.

Though producers have to look at supply and demand and other "market forces" when they decide how much to plant and what to charge. There are many variables in the equation.
Agriculture by it's very nature is uncertain (and there have been hold ups - perishables can't sit many hours before the quality degrades).

Someone is spreading a rumor that drinking celery juice is the new miracle food....maybe that is why there is a shortage?
