Just saw a brief news report that said Lori Loughlin has hired a prison coach and will also be learning martial arts in order to prepare for her prison sentence. Do you think she has decided she will actually go to prison or is this is just a bid for sympathy and media exposure? I think she would be eaten alive in prison unless it is one of the “ country club” prisons where some celebrities go.

Whatever it is, it is stupid. It's not like she'll go to a prison with a bunch of violent criminals.

Probably for both reasons.  She more than likely go to a cushy prison.  Her money will see to that.

I think she is probably really scared. I would be too.

Sounds like she may slowly be coming to terms with the fact there is a real chance of not talking her way out of this mess she and her hubby created. Martial arts sounds comical...you will need more than a few lessons to use that for self-defense....besides, am sure she will request a private room!

Am I the only person who thinks it is odd...no, wrong...that people who are locked up by the government with no chance to get away aren't better protected while in confinement?   They are there as a punishment for a crime - many, if not most, are non-violent crimes and they have to be prepared to fight to save their own life.  Doesn't this just seem wrong?

I was watching the first episode of "60 Days In" on Thursday and they said they had one guard per 110 inmates and this was at a local jail, not a prison.  They had to train the people who volunteered to participate in the "60 Days In" to fight, for their own safety.  How can locking people up knowing they will likely be beat up under your care be acceptable in this country?  Shouldn't they have an obligation to provide a relatively safe environment for people who have no place to escape?  In a jail (verses a prison) many of the people have not even been found guilty of anything - they are awaiting trial.  You could be the driver in a car accident where someone died and be held in jail.  You could be a passenger in a car with someone who had drugs you didn't even know about - or even know they did drugs - and you could be put in jail if caught.  Then, you could be beat up or killed and that is just part of being in jail???? I do not understand how anyone could think this was acceptable.

I am impressed with the way Martha Stewart reportedly spent her time in prison, helping other women with life lessons rather than preparing for self defense tactics.

If she goes to prison at all, I agree that it's likely to be of the "country club" variety.  I'm sure she's scared even of that, but I think what she's doing now is for publicity.  JMHO.

@pigletsmomI've read about prison coaches long ago -   hired by future prisoners or potential future prisoners who don't have family, friends, relatives with prison experience to teach them about prison culture.   Seems to me when I saw it before, it was either a politician or a financial executive who had done the hiring.  Too long ago to remember those details.

Even within the "gentler" prisons, there's still structure and confinement that I'd be happy to know about pre-prison if I were headed there.  I hadn't thought about the martial training mentioned, but there's a whole mental set coaches say they can help with.  Makes the adjustment in and after prison easier.

Not saying she's going, but she might as well assume she is and get ready.

I don't even believe that story.  It sounds like something the tabloids would make up.  She's not likely to plead guilty at this late date.  She still thinks she's too rich and too special to be found guilty.
