I have 2 HP printers and am on the instant ink program.  I pay $7.99 per month for 100 pages and they ship the correct ink before I run out.  They also give the first 3 months free.

It's connected through WiFi.  I can increase the number of pages when I need to for a large event.  I also decrease the number of pages when I need to.  I will never not be a part of this program.

I've never heard of this program @Tori3569 but it sure sounds like a wonderful idea.  The first 3 months free is a very nice incentive too.

@Icegoddess And when I put the new generic in, it tells me I have put in a Canon ink cartridge.

That makes me feel better.

But either way, so far, I have had no problems.

I print a lot.

Re: Printer ink!!!

[ Edited ]

It looks like the last time i bought ink it was refurbished, i dont think i even knew that-it works great! No issues at all.  I got if from Amazon, right now they are running black friday specials so its pretty cheap. I think its about $33 for 2 XL black, and 1 XL color. Thats the 63XL for my HP printer.

Hewlett Packard somehow knows when an off brand is installed and they immediately send an email saying the warranty is no longer available. I find that, after a time or two of buying new cartridges, a new printer is often less expensive. I'm not paying $100 for cartridges for a $125 printer!

I have an HP printer and it won't work with most generic or other brands of ink. That makes me angry.

I had a HP printer that got ruined by using generic ink. That didn't happen overnight but gradually until the insides of the printer got so gummed up with crud that it stop working and I had to buy a new printer. So from that point on I only use HP ink in my HP printer.

i have "ruined" two printers by buying off branded ink.

i  now just use the name brand printer ink for my HP printer.

YES, it is quite expensive, but i cannot live without my printer.

I just bought 2 sets (there are separate cartridges for color and black and white) for my printer at office max and the total cost was $126.95!  I got $4.00 off for turning in a couple of old cartridges.  I think it's terrible how much these things cost!  I try not to print any more than I have to, but some times there are periods where I do find it necessary to print a good deal.

@AngelPuppy1 ...and sometimes the ink heads get clogged when the printer is not used often enough and needs cleaned and then when you reset the printer....multiple pages have to be printed which wastes more ink.
