It's the Time of Year for Pink Lady Mrs Prindable Apples

If you like these sweeter than the green apple Mrs Prindables they are available now 12/8 & 12/15.

What I like about this assortment is that for the first time in a few years they have ones with pretzel pieces.  They don't get soggy and they are delicious.

Two other flavors included along with those.

They are a Big Deal.

I don't know how people eat those Granny Smith green apples which are meant for cooking, not eating.  They're one of the cheaper ones, of course.

I bet most kids take a bite, eat the coating then pitch the whole apple.  Eat the apple with sweet and it'll turn your mouth inside out.

granny smith apples are my favorites.....both plain and with mrs prindables coatings. i like the crunch and the tartness. i dont like apples that are "sweet" or mushy or too soft.

in our area they are not necessarily the cheapest apple.

for example.... at GIANT.....

5 pound bag of gala apples 7.99

5 pound bag of granny smith apples 8.99

5 pound bag of pink lady apples 7.99

5 pound bag of fuji apples 7.99

Jhere in the Santa Clara Valley you het a 2 lb bag of Granny Smiths for 3.48. I just checked.  They are medium size.  I buy organic, but don't know how much those are.  My grandkids love Granny Smith, especially the boys. They loved them as young boys as they are tart , and you know they love pickles, war heads, sour straws. That pucker stuff.  As young men, they still eat them. Napa Valley, Petaluma, Sebastopol up north grows some mean apples.  They are kings at apples

We grew up in the Bay Area and had apple and fig trees also grew meyer lemons.

My dad grafted 5 different varieties of apples on that tree.  My childhood friends were astounded that a tree could have red and green apples on one tree.

@rockygems123  we have quite a few fig trees on our block. I have the lemon, pomegranates, oranges and plums. Apples don't grow as,well in my part of the valley.  But oh boy I have walnut trees as well that are nearly 65 yrs old. Left from orchard that was here.  My SIL has a grafted tree of 4 different fruits. But having five is pretty big deal.  Was yours big?

It wasn't a huge tree but I remember my dad patiently preparing the graft and thrilled when it was successful.

Was it Luther Burbank that successfully grafted almond trees that started it all?  Sounds like you're in the central valley or So Cal and thats where I believe he did that.

Granny Smith was the only apple I would eat as as a kid. I can't stand  to eat red or gold apples out of hand, too sweet and mushy. I do like a honeycrisp or fuji and the like.
