She is thinner than before her illness, but that would be expected when undergoing chemotherapy. She has always been slender, so even losing a few poundswould be noticeable, but she doesn't look ill or gaunt. I think she looked great today and loved her outfit and how she coordinated Charoltte's outfit with hers. Black and white is always a good choice.

@Trailrun23  Charlotte's dress is navy blue in a nautical style. Kate's dress is trimmed in black. The boys are also in navy blue.

She still won't say what kind of cancer she has?

When she did make the public announcement, chemo was a precautionary measure.

The statement yesterday was she's still not out of the woods.

So which is it?  Not out of the woods seems a bit more serious than precautionary.

@CelticCrafter She said that months ago, maybe in February or March.

@Nonametoday   So?  It doesn't negate the fact that it was supposed to be precautionary.

@Nonametoday @CelticCrafter She said this on June 14, the day before the ceremony, on X regarding the "out of the woods"

"I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet."

I take that to mean she just is not finished with treatments, not that she is not making progress.

"Precautionary" and the length of time are individual issues.

Just wishing her all the best without picking apart what was/is said.

Seriously?

Yes, seriously. On work days I get up at 3:30 to read.  No big deal for me.

Another person's post got mixed in with mine because they did not use the @.....

Sorry there was such a terrible misunderstanding.  It is not I who said the things you think I said.  I apologize.  I should have corrected it but I did not (before it got this far). I look forward to anything and everything the princess of Wales can attend and for however long or short.  I agree about the precautionary.  I am on that kind of chemo myself.

Re: Princess Kate Trooping The Colour

So someone please enlighten me. If they found cancer in Kate, or anyone, they could surgically remove it all (that they see), and then the person gets chemo treatments to kill any cancer cells they may have missed. Is that correct?

“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.

“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

“At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

Just speculating here, but my guess is she had an ovarian cyst that wasn't benign.

My sister's abdominal surgery showed pancreatic cancer.  Too many kinds it could be and I do not try to speculate.

Yes, in my dads colon resection, the surgeon removed the section of intestine that was cancerous, along with a significant section beyond that normal margin.  Pathology showed no cancer cells in the extra section, nor any of dads lymph nodes, so at his follow-up appt, he got the results along with the news he did not have to do chemo.

@Tinkrbl44

I agree there are too many areas accessible thru the abdominal area where cancer is often found; gallbladder, pancreas, appendix, liver, kidneys, bladder, stomach, lung, intestines, as well as all female parts.
