There's a difference between beating a kid and spanking a kid. I spanked my kids but saw no need to leave marks or  

bruises.

I agree. My parents certainly never 'beat' me, but I did get the occasional smack and while I'd never advocate physical discipline as a first resort nor as one to be used often, I don't think the rare occasions did me any harm. It certainly didn't turn me into a violent or rage-filled adult.

Also, no yelling or raising of the voice is allowed not only by the children toward each other but William and Kate also do not raise their voice at one another or at their children. It is strictly forbidden at all times and the Nanny too must follow the rules herself and make sure the children adhere to the rules.

Spanking, smacking, handling your kid roughly or putting your hands on a kid when you're angry or frustrated- all violence children should not be subject to.

There are no excuses for parents to manhandle their children in any way. Especially now when we know better.
