@Tinkrbl44. I have seen that clip several times where Charles shakes his Mother's hand when she returned. Just so so sad.

@Coastalcarolina  many of those estates look good, and grounds are luscious!  But bathrooms, plumbing and comfort as far as heating and cooling are ancient. Plumbing is Jimmy-rigged half the time. It is expensive upkeep on those places.  Not like here.  Shower spigots are 1/2 " wide sometimes.  lol I imagine some have been modernized, but I heard many of the old palaces, estates and grounds are very remedial

The royal holdings and personal assets are in the billions, thanks to the taxpayers and greedy royals.

With all that money, why can't they upgrade plumbing ... even a little at a time?

@Tinkrbl44  Maybe they can use Easy Pay. 😜

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

It's been a long time coming. What about all the others that participated in the horror. Isn't anyone else being held accountable?

I doubt Charles himself wanted to do this, but from what I've read public pressure was becoming overwhelming.

Whether these steps will be enough to quiet the masses will be interesting to see.

That's what should happen to everyone who partied with Epstein.

I think one thing we can all agree on is Andrew was not the only one who participated.  We all want the other names. This has been going many, many years and we only have suspicions. Frustrating to say the least. If you go political it will come back on both sides. You can't accuse one side with out the other side being accused. That is why I won't go there.  For one thing the real perpetrators get off and the innocents get accused unfairly. It's a mess.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

This isn't political. This is human trafficking. I don't care what side of the aisle you are on politically. If you raped young girls you should be held accountable.Nobody I know is concerned that someone from "our side" was involved in these crimes. We want them to face justice. There's only one group actively covering this up and its sickening.

@Tinkrbl44  Agree 100%.  He was born to a queen.  I would think that makes him a prince regardless of what he's done.  And Liz may have been regarded highly by her subjects but except for perhaps Anne she seems to be a failure as a mother.

Also agree that "royalty" is obsolete.

The queen deserves credit for how she led by example during WWII but otherwise not so much. I doubt she had a model childhood.

@tansy

Charles was barely a toddler when she went off and was gone for about 6 months.

"Doing her duty", I guess.

What about her duty as a mother?

I'm paraphrasing here, but Jacqueline Kennedy has said it doesn't matter what else you do if you are a failure as a mother.

We can’t even begin to imagine the life royals live, it’s not just different, it’s a world apart. Their every move is shaped by centuries of tradition, duty, and public expectation. Parenting in that environment isn’t comparable to ours, because their “normal” has been forged over hundreds of years.

Calling the Queen a failure as a mother based on our standards ignores the reality of her role. She wasn’t just a parent, she was a monarch, a symbol, and a servant to the Crown. That kind of life demands sacrifices most of us will never face. It’s not about excusing everything but understanding that their choices come from a place we’ll never fully grasp.

The more we see of William, the more he seems like just another pompous jack azz.

After Charles passes, it might be a good time to abolish the monarchy altogether.  The government makes the laws, and the royals are just pomp and silliness.  They really aren't necessary.

I get that American’s don’t’ understand the monarchy, but calling William a “pompous jack azz,” how would you know that?  Do you know him? He doesn’t do Oprah interviews, or documentaries like his brother. All of what we see is filtered through media narratives.

William’s public work includes mental health advocacy, environmental initiatives, and diplomatic duties. William seems like an upstanding young man to me.

Absolutely@Lakelife62. Let the chips fall where they may regardless of social position, money or political party. G. Maxwell was a monster and has been moved to a cushy facility. Everyone should be horrified but apparently not. These predators knew exactly who to targ et and she groomed the young victims and served them up. With all their wealth and advantages in life, this is what they chose to do. I hope there is justice in the next life because it's not happening here..
