I think the Danish royals did the right thing. No titles, raise them so they can fend for themselves and live a life of self worth/dignity like normal humans.

Absolutely no reason for Eugenie/Beatrice to have titles, so many above them have to abdicate for them to get their turn. I think they both have real jobs but not sure why they want to keep their titles other than broadcast their privilege. With their royal connections it should not be hard for them to be successful in whatever they chose to do.

Having said that, under the circumstances even with all of Andrew/Fergie's drama the girls have shown a lot of class. Hope they continue that way.

Up until now, none of the royals were raised to be anything but "part of a family".  None were educated to cover the possibility that they might need to get a job some day.

Here's a question .... IF William and Kate suddenly decided to step away from the royal duties and become private citizens, what could William do that would pay him a good income?

My guess is William "might" be able to go work for his in-law's party planning company, but would he honestly be able to do that?

(Yes, the very idea of W & K stepping away will horrify some posters here, but it's an example of them "not trained to work for a living".  They are all financially supported from various income streams and had to never think about earnings).

@Tinkrbl44 - William's military service was as a search and rescue pilot. He is trained as a helicopter pilot, and after leaving his service worked as an air ambulance pilot. He participated in sea rescues. He is also certified as an EMT.

That's what he has said he wanted to do. Queen Elizabeth apparently worried about his flying, and the time came when he had to concentrate on his royal duties.

He's a young man. If he has to work, he is more than qualified to do something like this, or some kind of EMT work on the ground.   Smiley Happy

There are many people out there earning a living that aren't "trained" to do anything.

They both can work in public relations.  Prince William since birth was trained in diplomacy.  Princess Kate also worked for her parents' company.  She has experience in making sales and working with people.  I wouldn't worry about them if they ever left the royal family.  They both have skills that don't require trashing their families to make money.

I agree with you.  Just look at the Kardashians, any Real Housewife, etc.

So lucky for Meghan that she married Harry - she wouldn't have made nearly the money just trashing her own family.

PW & Kate don't have to worry about finding a job. Looks like they have embraced their role. If he were to I am sure he would be going about it just like all of us & made an honest living. You play the cards you're dealt.

Based on one of his interviews he gave about coping with the death of his mother this is what he had to say:

"I wanted it to make me," he said. "I wanted her to be proud of the person I would become. I didn't want her worried or that her legacy would be that, you know, William and or Harry were completely and utterly devastated by it and that all the hard work and all the love and all the energy she put into us when we were younger would go to waste."

That kind of sets the tone I would think.
