I was at the farmer's market yesterday and bought a ten pound bag of Fuji apples for $4.50.
I commented to the grower that that was a great price and asked how he can possibly make any profit?
He said that he would rather sell for that price at the market because when he sells to the big stores they sell his apples for $1.99lb but pay him 29c! Isn't that outrageous?
So boycott the supermarkets and only buy from the growers. They deserve a decent price for their delicious produce.
