@cowboy sam ...I see you have been very busy with shopping and walking and got a little "whiff" of some sort of substance as you walked by a certain house the other evening...Now, don't you start deliberately lingering around there during your walks, Ya hear! LOL
How is that adorable Great Grandson of yours doing?...How is your son, Curt, feeling?...Hope all continues to improve for him! ![]()

@Yahooey Oh my that is so Beautiful! 👏 I never learned how to knit, crochet, needlepoint or sew!!
I wish I would have stayed in, learning to knit. My mom's friend, Ms. Irene was teaching me and another girl from our building how to knit.
The girl was diligent. I dropped out and discovered boys. 😝
Now I'm cold in the winter, because I don't know how to knit myself a sweater. 😆
@SouthernBee I am so proud of how hard you have worked to stick to your diet.💐 I need to do this myself. I hope to be inspired by reading your weight loss posts. 😊
@Mj12 💐 So glad to hear you are doing well! God bless 🙏 and continue to feel well.

morning @cowboy sam @KBEANS @MyShadowLove @SouthernBee @Mj12
@dooBdoo @Tique @JaneMarple @geezerette @loveschocolate @NEvans2
taking a poll - since i'm knitting the scarves with yarn given to me - i knit what i have -
my own perference - and bear in mind... i didnt know what i was doing... it was trial and error without an end game plan .... i bought yarn without a pattern which sometimes would run short
my fingers are short and leather gloves with fingers - always had room on the top
when fingerless mitts came out decades ago - that is what i bought
the first thing i knitted for myself was fingerless mitts
the pattern was too big as u can see - wore it for 2 years - ripped out and reknitted in a small circumference
my first hat - i bought this soft cashmere in deep teal
ran out of yarn - went back to the store - they didnt have any in stock
bought a contrasting pink - rip a lot out and continued in stripes
my first cowl - although beautiful - wouldnt lay flat around my chest
it always had gaping holes where the wind would cut through
i ripped the whole thing out - my knitting friend was shocked
if i cant wear it - get frustrted and angry with it.... i still love the yarn
i added another yarn and made this bandana - only worn on coldest of days
very snug and very warm - it can cover my nose if needed
my 2nd hat bc i found it so fascinating was the Norwegian Fair Isle hat
since i had to a lot of colors and only used a bit - i made several for fam
i turned 60 in 2020 during the pandemic and felt sorry for myself
since i usually take a trip for big birthdays with my bff who would also turn 60
both born in the same month
i bought 100% silk yarn (very pricy) and knitted this beautiful long shawl which i just wrap around my neck - since i dont wear it as a shawl - al lthe details are lost
it is hard to wear bc it can get snag very easily - i hate babying it and i dont want it just sitting in a draw... so i chance it and try to be careful - TRY but not always suceeding
my down winter jacket is white - all my knitted stuff DONT match
i'm okay with thst
what do you wear? gloves - hat - scarf description pls or none
i never wore a hat when younger - i had 6 inches of hairsprayed hair and you cannot put a hat on it - i always protected my ears with a scarf and i was good to go
since i only have 1 head - 2 hats are plenty
so i go knitting in the park - i may take yarn home to do a pattern
when sharing knitting in the park - it is supposed to be the garter stitch
where you only knit back and forth so the next person that continues can do so
i have stated - i dont like a lot of stuff
so if i had lots of hats and scarves etc - it would overwhelming...
but i like to knit.... hence the charity scarves
i do knit socks bc you need more than 1 pair of socks lol
im babbling in the dark with a cup of hot cawfee - sorry for rambling....

@Yahooey ...Wow, Baci sure has grown quite a bit since you first posted his picture and he sure is giving his "fishie" a darn good workout!...My Shadow had a couple of "kickers" that she absolutely loved and would wrestle with them, just as Baci is doing with "fishie", and fling them around...Baci has settled in very nicely in his wonderful, loving home! ![]()

@Yahooey ....🤣.You're crackin' me up here!!!....How many cups of coffee did you drink in the dark in the wee hours this morning while typing this post!...Caffeine Buzz!...Ya know I lubs ya! 🤣
Okay, where do I start...lol...Two of my favorites are the "Norwegian Fair Isle Hat"...love the various colors throughout...and I also love the "Bandana"...just pull it over as a scarf around the neck and able to pull up in the extreme cold as you have shown...I like how you added the pink to the teal in your "First Hat".
Your knitting items are so very impressive...It is so obvious that you put as much love and enjoyment into your knitting items as you do with your cooking.
I'm not one to wear hats unless it is really cold and I'm out for exercise and a refreshing walk, so I have a couple of different styles...one is similar to your "Norwegian Fair Isle Hat" and the other is a furry hat that I have had forever...love that one the best...I do have some what I call "funky" Winter scarves that I wrap around my neck and can pull up to protect my face, if needed....A couple of my favorites are a deep Coral color and the other is a really pretty Medium Green color, but not as dark as Evergreen...I call these scarves "funky" because they have a pattern to them that makes them look like they have ruffling going through them...really pretty and fun.
I don't like having to bundle up a lot but, of course, when Winter arrives, I have no choice and so I try to add color and make it fun when I do....Coats, boots, scarves, hats, gloves...If I could get away with it, I would still be wearing sandals in the Winter!...lol
I have a question...You mentioned in your post that, when you go knitting in the park, you do what is called "sharing knitting"...so you knit a few rows and then pass it on to the next person and you all are actually working on one item together...similar to what Quilters do?...Is that correct?
Also, the lovely silk shawl that you knitted...I would think it would be more difficult and somewhat tedious knitting with silk yarn since it is so delicate?
Okay, I'm the one on a roll here now...rambling away...and I don't drink Coffee...If I do, it is decaffeinated or else I would definitely end up with "Caffeine Buzz"...and I'm Buzzed enough as it is! lol
Well, this is going to be interesting to see how this post comes out combined with yours....We can call ourselves "Preds' Ramblers"! 😂
Okay, here goes....Whoosh!
10-25-2023 06:31 PM
then i will hang out with my fellow rambler lol
the silk shawl - there was a pattern and a kit that was sold
so i bought the whole kit and coboodle (sp) when i saw the pic below
that was a BD gift to myself
it was tedious and very slow going as i know this was a special item
it took forever to kniw but then we were ALL not going anywhere - my BD is in April - and i didnt finish until Sept 2020
and didn't wear it until winter of 2022
look how big it is and all the ways it could get snagged - sigh....
