morning - i missed you all and i can't list names as my wee brain is not functioning
it started Monday with a car picking me up 3am for a 545a flight to San Juan and a walking onto the tarmac and up the steps of the aircraft to a little air craft -
landing on Tortola and a FAST 15 minute boat ride to Guana Island (guana dot com)
a small private island - part of the british virgin islands - got there around noon
my older niece is celebrating her 50th BD which lands in Dec but these were the only days available cuz she wanted the whole island - yep - the whole island
it accomodates 35 guests but she eeked out 36 guests
she said to me that she worked hard.- does not have children (education $)
she wanted a celebration and felt this was the time
i didnt know anyone except her and her brother
she didnt want to invite pancake cuz .....
i told her to invite her parents cuz i dont think they will come
or pancake will hold it over her head for eternity - throwing money but not inviting her own parents..... she declined inviation and a lecture ensued (i'm told)
it was magic - all her friends of course heard about me through the years and i iddn't know them - i have decline her invitations to her various parties - i thought i will feel like an odd fish with no where to hide but an island - i can snorkel by myself and didnt need to interact... i dont know their names but they were very welcoming - we all ate as peeps drifted out of their rooms at various time for the buffet style breakfast and lunch - dinner on the first night was at the dining area as guests landed throughout the day - dinner tuesday night was grilled spiney lobster and slices of steak and sides served on the beach with live music and i danced with wild abandon - havent done that forever - no one was judging - come on - dancing on the beach at night- booze a flowing? wednesday night - dinner near their orchard grove - as a toast was given - a shooting start appeared - i swear it was on cue - i have never seen a shooting star although other guests have seen them on previous nights -
guana conservation program successfully reintroduced the Stout Rock Iguana from 8 adult in 1983 to over 300 today - bc you hear them rustling as you walk and it is really freaky - but after a day - i was walking close tryiing to get a pic - i stomped a scropian dead - someone flinged it out of their room and i finished it off - a gecko was on the wall as i was sitting on the throne and found a baby one my bed and idk where it went - you try not to think of these things
i am NOT a drinker - but i had 1 pina colada on the first day to 2 or 3 everyday since
also had a body wrap and massage -snorkel trip to a nearby reef - i have not been on a vacation since 2019 and i NEVER vacation like this - i have gone to Boston a few times - remember that? she was the one that came over to stay w/mom for the day
her friends stopped their lives - getting baby sitters (no kids)- leaving their jobs - and paid their way for the travel portion - to enjoy paradise for a few days -
some people spoke (me incuded) and you can feel the love - BD girl cried a few times with happy tears and too bad pancake will NEVER see what others see... to always be angry and woe is me - nm - no bad energy here
most left the island yesterday but she decided to stay with a few others till Sunday
she deserves it - cuz you know pancake is her mother
as i left - many have said - come to the parties.... maybe i will
you kinda bond in the water with drink in hand - over good fudz and conversation
i'm not trying to boast,.. but in life there are peeps in ur life that are hurtful and you can't avoid them... but i told her that she was special and i lubs her and glad i was invited - she in turn said she was so happy i came... my brother was also invited but doesnt like the beach - he has psoriasis and wouldn't be comfortable exposing that... and so he watched Zoe... she greeted me with a loud meow - usually... she looks or turns away as i come in... she ran down towards me and did a thorugh sniffing.

I had no idea you could even do that - have a whole island to yourself. I'm so glad you went and had a blast. Your niece sounds like an amazing woman.
Just looking out onto the water and the mountains - looks like heaven.
