ai lubs dat et es awl goodies now

u had such a hard time - with all the variations of brands and sizes - returns etc

I hope this mixer will give you many years of joy

did someone say cake?  yum!!!

we are simple people - apple tart is a fav - i have posted pics before

tried and true - fruit tart with custard is also a fav

psst - the reason it is tart and not pie is cuz pie dough is not my friend

i have made pie dough and i have bought premade pie dough but the tart is easy and purdy to look at - and easier to cut and distribute

@Yahooey

I know you and @SouthernBee  are Champion cooks, which I am Not.  Do you share recipes?  I would love to see the - tried and true fruit tart with custard -

If it is VERY simple, I might just maybe, be able to make it!

@Drythe : I always share recipes. I have even given cooking classes in my kitchen or provide step by step instructions. I have gifted notebook binders with recipes including the protective plastic sheet covers. One Thanksgiving- all the teenagers wanted to know why my sweet tea was better than what they had at home. Plus wanted extra tea to take with them. When finished eating we went to the kitchen and they watched me make tea🤷‍♀️😁. I always have a supply of to go cups with lids and straws. 🥤. Family members later admitted that they no longer go to the fast food drive thru to order tea 😳😀

@Drythe

I always use America's Test Kitchen, Ina, or Martha for most of my baked desserts

my fruit tart is a frankenstein - it isn't hard, just time consuming - i will give you step by step and you will decide whether you want to go forward - best thing - it is a make ahead and just throw it in the fridge so it sets overnight

Step 1 - tart shell - looking at the video will help you understand - just the first few mintues since the recipe is for a french apple tart (my thanksgiving dessert)

Step 2 - pastry cream filling is from a Boston Cream Pie - which is at the beginning of the video - I don't always strain and I push plastic wrap against the top instead of the parchment paper to prevent a skin from forming (easier)

Step 3. - after chilling - spread the pastry cream over the shell and arrange your fruit - use whatever you like - I then brush the top of the fruit with a little apricot jam to make it shiny and pretty - about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup + a tsp of water - microwave for a 10-15 seconds so it is thinner and dab with a brush lightly to the fruit- here is my fruit from a few years ago

What is the secret for your sweet tea?  I’m a Southerner for Sweet Tea!

Wish I were close enough to take lessons.  I’d bring the ingredients and you could show me what to do with them?

Yumm!
