dear preds and friends

Last evening i was invited to go for supper with my 2 friends the married couple, as i has so missed being with them.

She is getting closer to being 90 in another year or so i think.Her dh is the baby being the younges  as i'm 4 years older than him  and she is close to being 5 years older than me!Ok..i will be 84 in 2 months....can you figure the math out????

She admired my Essential Medical Supply couture  offset fashion cane in Swirl style  (Blue,greens swirl walking cane.)..   

She asked where i bought it at.(Walmart)..long story short..i told her i would order one for her  and it was a gift from me

.On the Walmart internet website..they were sold out....  but Amazon hasd it

..i orded steak fries,salad  and chicken salad on crossaint  bun....so big...i took bun off top and ate it with a fork!  oh  I..drank a partial glass of Dr. Pepper.

I was out of my "Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce"....so i ordered me a 2 pack  and each bottle is 40 ounces    so it was ordered at same time on my order.!

I told pancake no when she called me this morning.

I am done taking my 3days of med for UTI...and started the lower dose of thyroid med today... 

but i over did walking up/down basement steps to do laundry.. was in pain.took a  Tylenol 8hour arthritis caplet 650  , wrapped myself in heating throw...and i fell asleep  for a hour or two..

Have i put you to sleep with my tale of woes today???

Hard to explain... those of you who have tussled with depression likely can understand the complexity of emotions and sometimes-halting, sometimes-difficult communication, although I know it can be a very different journey for each of us.  
My therapist retired a while back and I haven't yet found someone with the kind of connection I had before -- but I will! 😊👍

Every time I've moved over the years I encountered this change, so I know it just takes time to find the right fit.  

And I think we might be put in these situations so we can benefit from new perspectives and new ways of healing.

I've been going back and revisiting some of the incredibly valuable education, tools, and therapy I received during my hospital inpatient psych stays, and that's helping. 

It also reminds me with a kick in the you-know-what 😛🤭😉 that I haven't been putting to use those tools consistently to help myself.

I have a dear friend from 'way back who's a gifted therapist, and we've had some great conversations. 

And I recently re-connected with a couple of pals also from years ago and we've shared some major laughter about things we used to get ourselves into...  isn't it something, the healing power of laughter?

Probably a good reminder to dwell in love as much as we can, do our best to seek out and invite joy, even if in small wee tiny bits and pieces.

We've had some major storms and power outages and I know y'all have had this, too. 

I pray for all of those who have been in these storms' paths, also keeping everyone in mind, in heart, in prayers as new storm seasons come to meet us.

I've been reading the posts and my heart goes out to all of you, knowing what you're working through.❤️

I also am thankful that each of you comes here every day, or most days, to share your lives, your kind spirits, your joy, your giggles and grins when you see the silliness and goofiness in this puzzling world...  

You have such grace, such generosity.❤️

What a gift you give to all of us who might not be as communicative but who are always overjoyed to see your posts (and also the hearts from those friends who are "peeking in!").

Preds would be so proud of you all. 

In my heart I see her looking down at us, Preds our morning star  who was always here in the wee small hours of the morning, and sharing her stardust and light...  and smiling with such love.

@cowboy sam : It is hard and stressful to do laundry and considering you have to go up and down stairs to do it. Monday , I washed a load of towels that was on top of the washing machine. I asked DH to put them in the dryer and when finished to put on the table. I have tried all week to get to the table to fold the towels and still need to do all the other laundry.

It is getting difficult to walk with the walker and can only stand for a couple of minutes.

I just told DH that I can't do the laundry.

I hope that I am not repeating stuff when I post. Just dealing with so much.

Rebath  called yesterday and no change in price to do the lower access threshold.

I remember ❤  Preds  and miss her. She really had a lot to deal with but still so graceful and loving.

Woke up to thunderstorms and will continue all day long. 

Well, what can you do when your foot itches and you can't bend over to scratch!!!??? For me: use the bottom of my walking cane.😯🙄🤓🤓.Not the best solution but.....

A big hello to everyone - and forgive me if your name is not here - And sending love and light to all!

Cowboy Sam - I am not much behind you in years, but after reading of your experience with your DD, remember something.  Being a mother is tough.  Always something.  So many years back, a friend said "Nobody ever told me this motherhood thing was a lifetime sentence."  Always stuff.

Always something to worry about.  My DH does not worry.

@Southern Bee, Wishing I could help you.  One thought I had re your dinner meal.  Why not buy some of the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers for your meals?  Low in calories, high in protein, fast in the microwave?  You can add veggies alongside, or maybe a salad.  Much healthier than what DH brings home.  I use that for a quick meal.  Trying to lose weight, trying to eat healthy, but sometimes just want quick and easy. I am sorry to hear of your struggles!

@dooBdoo, I wish I had a magic wand to help you feel better.

When I am distressed, I do find some relief being out in nature.  So much beauty, fresh air - it seems to ground me.

At my core, I go into my spiritual life.  Just me, not being preachy.  If it is quiet and I pray, one of my "Jesus Calling" books, it helps.  Again,  to not preach, but what has helped me.

And I will distract myself by watching documentaries on tv.  I

love the Discovery, History, and Science channels.  I am a visual learner.  Do not know if you are.  Exercise, if you can.

A walk, stuff you can do inside, maybe can help.  Please do not be insulted.  There are no easy fixes out there.  I am an expert in nothing.

I told my DH, at my advanced age, I want to write my obit.

Short and simple.  I am a very ordinary person and have lived an ordinary life.  In our Sunday paper, I do read obits.  some get cray-cray.  Like, who cares if I was a Girl Scout cookie mother!!  

@Yahooey, You have such a gift for gardening.  I admire that so much.  I never have.  You are such a great cook.  I did try, cooked for my poor family for years, never will known for my cooking.  You do seem to be an active person, and I admire that.  I am sure you have some hard days, but you seem to have the zip that I have zapped.  

My little GC, as I have mentioned, are doing well.  My GS, at 16, well over 6 feet, weight 155, does well in track.  My GD,

quite the little artist and dancer, 12 years old, amazes me.

Both are good students.  How did we get so lucky?  Their parents work so hard, and sacrifice so much for these kids.

They have pets, always have, and love animals.  Of course, their dog, Apollo,loves me.  Oh boy, he is a puff,  such a big Rottie. Always in my face, wanting to play when he sees me.  
They are now fostering two dogs at a time, trying to ready them for adoption.  My DIL works, but my DS luckily has a job that allows him to work at home.  Computer age, happy to have no long commute that he once had.  A very very busy household.

My DD and SIL have very demanding jobs.  Married late in life. No kids, but two spoiled kitties.  His dad passed last summer after years of fighting complications of COVID.  They were wonderful to him.  My heart hurts when I think of what Tony went through.  He loved my DD as his own. He was special, and I will always miss him.

And, of course, Mr. Winston keeps us laughing.  He rules this house.  He is a strong personality, but such a love bug.  Sits on laps, and quite the kisser.  A schmoozer.  From humble beginnings at the shelter to the life of a prince.

@PamfromCT : Wonderful reading your post. You are Blessed with a very special family. Love Mr. Winston. Thank you for the food tips.I hate to admit and report at this time that I am not physically able to prepare a simple microwave meal. It is very difficult and painful for me to walk with my walker and stand up for just a few minutes. I really can't do anything. Getting a shower is difficult and wears me out and not able to do anything for the rest of the day.My spinal epidural is scheduled 6/7/24 and praying this will work.

My main therapy is" walking" with my neighbor and i walk further

or by myself around the 4 blocks around nearby church. I can destress a lot!

Neighbor left this morning for a weeks vacation with her dh  ..she mentione she hoped i still go walking without her. And yes, weather permitting i will.

My n/p  is very happy to know how often i walk  and how long....

When my mom was my age she was ready for a wheelchair! She didn't want to go anywhere  and just stayed home..sitting!

After my dh's funeral she told me she hoped i"go out more and not stay home like she did as a widow"  !I can still see her and her telling me that    31 years ago.

Today its sunny,humidity is 55%  and 81...

high will be 85 today!

I will be going to grandsons soon to be step/daughters...

open house as she gradurated from 8th grade this week

I still can't remember all her aunts,uncles,cousins names... But i was welcomed into my new family last Thanksgiving.
