Just finished up making the stuffing and the cranberries.  Smells so good now.

I picked up my turkey.  I ordered a boneless turkey breast from Whole Foods.  It's a little over 5 pounds.  We're 8 people for dinner, and 2 don't eat turkey at all.  Do you think that's enough?

I've always bought a whole turkey, and we don't even put a dent in it.

By my calculations, it takes 24 hours for every 4-5 pounds of turkey to defrost.  So that is definitely not enough time to defrost the turkey in the fridge.  I know that math.  LOL

You're probably better off staying home and not going.  Maybe you can go later and have dessert.

@Bri369 : Totally agree on the turkey defrost time table.

If they are eating at 4 by the time everyone arrives nd the finish it will be getting dark. They live on the other side of town in a very busy area and concerned about DH driving at night plus the possibility of rain. Prefer to stay home. It has been a very stressful week.

On Thursday I'm going to heat up a frozen pizza I got the other day and finish my coffee ice cream.  Maybe more store pumpkin pie and whipping cream too.

Friends asked me for dinner too, but I was there last Christmas and they had way more people than she told me there was going to be.  I didn't know anyone and didn't enjoy myself at all.  Everyone is trying to be nice thinking they're doing me a favor not letting me stay home alone, but I prefer it!🤷‍♀️

I understand how you feel about going out.  Sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth.  Football sounds like a nice way to spend the holiday!🏈

@geezerette : I really hate when people invite you over and then discover more like 30 people instead of 15 and friend is famous for doing this. Plus the issue of parking down the street and walking back to her house on a walker. She has a very small drive way and lives on the corner.

@cowboy sam : Hope you don't get sick. DH and I haven't felt great the last two days and dealing with sneezing and scratchy throat.

So relieved that you have wonderful neighbors that take care of you.😍🤗

@Bri369 : You will have enough turkey with all the other trimmings. DH was upset the other week when I purchased a 4 pound spiral sliced ham and that was 12 slices for the meal and extra for sandwiches. Everything sounds delicious.

Good Morning Y'all. Yesterday was interesting. I was initially upset when the refrigerator repair place sent out another young guy but he was great. He was surprised at the temperature and accumulated frost. He used the steam cleaner and then removed the back panel and and the accumulated frost was worse than the first time. He took a long time with the steam cleaner to remove all the frost. He asked me if the other young guy did that and asked how long he worked on this. You should have seen his facial expression when I started reading all my notes with dates and time frames. I was also taking notes on this visit and watching everything he was doing and standing the whole time.

The first guy just removed a small area of frost to remove the defective defrost heater and install the new one. The guy yesterday explained that the whole area should have been cleaned first to let the new part work effectively and completely. Plus the guy yesterday discovered that the new part wasn't correctly installed and one of the two wires wasn't connected and the new part wasn't really working. He was taking photos of everything. He was mad and I was really upset. I explained because of this goof off  worker that we had to trash expensive food items and our Thanksgiving has been ruined because I wont have time to cook and he agreed with me 100%. He explained that I needed to wait 24  before putting anything back in refrig- freezer. To let it return to normal temperature of O/ 37. I told him that I knew that plus will wait a few days longer to closer monitor that the temperature is set because can't afford to trash more expensive groceries. Plus explain the extra expenses for the mini fridge and knowing this problem should have been resolved sooner instead of two months. He noticed my lift recliner in the living room with the forsale sign. He took photos because he has a friend that needs a new recliner.

He said he would write the service visit so that I will not be charged another service call. This guy worked on the freezer for over an hour . I was exhausted when he left. Before going to bed last night the temperature was 15/44 and the freezer / refrigerator very quite. We were able to leave the den door open. Praying that everything is fixed.

fingers crossed that this guy can perform the magic

i hate that these 'repair or any service profesional' are NOT competent and the consumer is left holding the bag...

you have to pay for each service call?

sorry.... i thought the house warranty covers all that - i forgot what you called it

i really prayed that it works this time...

you have been through a lot mentally, physically and financially

rest up - ❤️💙💜
