Yesterday was a bad one for me!

Woke up with a bad back pain...took 1/2 of a scrip pain med  pill.... and wrapped myself in a electic throw  and slept for a while...

well off and on all day  .

That 1/2 of a pill was way too strong for me!

But

I did wake up enough to go get my mail.. yesterday.

one pair of my sandals were in mail box,    plus   daughter sent me a gift ..a watch  with a owl on it!

  Later  again  i heard a delivery truck  it was Fed-EX  driver delivering my other pair sandals!

Then I  went back to sleep   again!

and later  I heard another delivery truck..UPS..

   driver delivered me a envelope with instructions for  new set up !???   but no  orther package with a item in it to use instrucions with???

I went to bed around 8-9 pm

This morning  i feel sluggish  and " weak"! 

But back pain is gone!

good morning

just taking a poll for amusement

our family never cared for turkey

but we have made it many times (free turkey after purchasing $$ at a market)

and just too much leftover meat

this year.... i make what i wanna eat and leftovers are a joy instead of..

what else can i do with 15 lbs of turkey

seasonal savory loaf of bread from BREADS (bought)

artichoke and spinach enchiladas 

mac n cheese  - only once a year bc the ingredients are skeery

yams 

apple slab pie - done on a half sheet pan bc everyone loves apple pie

first time doing it bc maybe easier than doing 2 separate french apple tarts

brother is grilling some steak bc we couldnt find prime rib on sale

stove top stuffing - we kinda lubs it - i have made from scatch (a lotta work) and peeps are just as happy with the box - so be it

mashed potatoes

my niece is bringing potato gratin

unveiling my espresso machine - only brother knows about it but he doesnt drink it

my niece and her BF will be excited - i even got some vanilla ice cream

to go w/apple slab or affogato

it will be at my place - no dishwasher - so prepping stuff tomorrow 

and hoping to clean as i go so not a lot will have to be clean after the feast

debating about paper or real dishes

i have not broken them out since i lugged them back from paris

there are 4 of us and 7 for dessert 

so main on plates and dessert on paper

i think that is a pretty good solution

my niece's 30th bd was last week and we are celebrating it on thanksgiving

how did she turn 30 already

i made her fav biscotti - she gets the whole tin - no sharing

Black Pepper Walnut Biscotti 

(added some pecans bc i ran out) 

valerie bertinelli's former MIL recipe

mine is the almond cramberry - 

i always have that on hand bc not a lot of buttah and sugar

it keeps forever

mostly holiday cookies are full of both and i'm okay with that

but i dont have them all the time

do not show me a fat free - sugar free - anything

you can buy those in the store

i only do the naughty ones

what do you like? keep on hand or have for a treat only

Grandson is working today!

If a friends asks what will i eat today:

 daughter   called me last night  and told me that she is stopping at my favorite resturant...no its "not" Cracker Barrel 

and picking up 2 turkey dinners for us  at 11 am.

So we will enjoy out turkey  meals,and chat while watching a few tv shows.

I might watch a football game later

oops..forgot to say  that last night one neighbor  that i seldom see..  as she & her dh have 2 young children ,brought me over a fresh pumkin pie  that she made

I thanked her and her young daughter  a few times before she mentioned that i should go back into my house  as it was very cold out!

And i thanked them again  and came back into my warm house...lol!

Plans got changed once again  for today  as  daughter cancelled..not feeling well  and running a fever.

No biggie...   As she never wants to expose me to anything going around where she works part time !

Had a good meal from my freezer  and now watching football!
