Wow!  So happy to see Yahooey back here again.  Yes, you have been missed.  You are very smart to use a portable heater to cut down on costs.  And your new Expresso sounds so nice, and I hope you give us your report when it comes.  I love my cawfee too.  I will tell Winston that Zoe is still available.  Of course, he is not allowed outside - much too dangerous.  Good thing DH and I love animals, as we live in Wild Kingdom.  Did not start off that way, but evolved over the years.  My best wishes to you.

Cowboy Sam, Hope you are doing ok!  You are wise to use your walker to keep you safe.  I know that as we age, it is easier to fall.  I also send my best wishes to you and your family.  Hope you are feeling better, too.

Bee, I am waiting for the day both your eye procedures

are done.  You have endured so much,  but with a real

can-do attitude that is amazing.  Sending you best wishes.

Geezerette, All I know about you is that you are a very sweet person.  And that you have a hubby.  I hope you can tell me a little bit more about you, only if you feel comfortable.  Sending best wishes to you.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I count my many blessings.  You Preds people are a blessing, each and every one!  Lubs to all!

@PamfromCT @Yahooey @cowboy sam @geezerette : I appreciate all your prayers and kind thoughts. What people tell you about cataract surgery and reality but considering each person is different. The right eye surgery and the left eye surgery was  totally different. The left eye surgery took 30 minutes.
Had different anesthetist: she was the best. Different nurses that helped better with the pillows for my knees and lower back. Anesthesiologist kept saying we will give you a " block " and you will not feel anything but didn't explain what the block was. Then my doctor came over and one hand was behind his back. He pulled out a big needle full of liquid and moved toward my eye. Me and my wimpy self stated: oh no : don't think so. He looked at the anesthesiologist and stated: We need the special sauce: I said : please be better than what doc is holding. She touched my shoulder and said she would put me asleep for a couple of minutes and tell me when you feel sleppy. They had me propped up at a 90 degree angle and next thing laying flat . Then stated that I was next. In the operating room : gave me oxygen and then put a drape or something over both eyes.

 and mouth . didn't feel anything but could hear every body talking. I could see the removal of the lens and the new lens. Asked later if I was really able to see that and they said yes: cause I was really surprised but wasn't feeling anything. Now I look like I have 2 black eyes. The black eye is swollen internally and externally and added another special eye drop to deal with that issue. So the left eye vision isn't that great for now but told that should improve in two weeks. I have two weeks for the surgery eye drops for the right eye and four weeks of eye drops for the left eye. Me and my adventures. So relieved the surgeries are done. Was trying to play a game on my iPad and all the commercials were about : " eye drops. I was playing the games and trying to forget about my eyes and the uncomfortable feeling that something was stuck in my eyes. 👀 .😮😮😳😄😄😄😄😄

Enjoy your day.❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏

@SouthernBee

So, that's done and over with!  And you made it through! You should be proud of yourself that you managed so well.👏

It's weird that you have two black eyes.  I've never heard of that with cataract surgery.

And so now all you have to get through the eye drops for both eyes.  Hopefully your vision in left eye will improve soon.  But do make sure you don't overdo with holiday preparations.  You don't want to injure either eye by bending over or lifting anything before everything is healed.

Does your DH still think you look younger? 😍

@geezerette : I called my church friend that had her surgery at the same center.She said one eye was very dark under the eye lashes and the other eye: her eye lid was very dark. They told her that it doesn't happen on a regular basis but can happen. Depends on individuals: medical history , conditions and other factors.

We are both just happy to be over . Hers was done 3 months before mine.
I was thinking that my vitamin deficiency could have made a difference.

I am being very lazy. I will be asking DH to provide extra help for TG and thankful it's just us. We will eat later in the day. Using paper plates, eating in the den while watching football 🏈. The evening before will shower and DH to wash my hair( no water or soap in the eyes until completely recovered) and special gown to wear. We decided to be comfortable on TG. DH has new t shirt and lounge shorts to wear. This year will really be different. Ready for changes after so many years of holiday entertainment, fun while young.

I pray that you will be doing something different and special for yourself.🙏❤️❤️❤️

I really prefer sweet potato pie but not making one.

I love your casual plans for Thanksgiving!  That will be a treat for you after everything you've been so diligent to arrange before your eye surgeries.

You may enjoy it so much you will continue every year! 🧡🦃

@SouthernBee

I am so happy for you that your eye procedures are done.  I am sure you will heal well and then enjoy the benefits.  What a relief this must be!

I think you are very wise to take it easy.

So often we all push forward when we should be taking better care of ourselves.  Bravo to you!

I used to host all holidays and Birthdays for us and extended family.  That was then, this is now.  Thanksgiving?  We are all going out to eat, and dinner reservation was made a while back.  My DD took over for several years when her dear FIL was very ill.  He was affected by severe lung problems following COVID and relied on an oxygen tank for survival.

It was too much to expect him to go out and about.  Tony was a wonderful person, loved my DD so much, and has been in heaven now for a while.

Again, I am so happy you are taking care of yourself.  I know you and hubby will enjoy a peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving!

Lubs ya!
Hugs,

Pam
