@SouthernBee

Your SIL sure has some odd priorities when it comes to money.  But I certainly hope her husband will be okay.  She seems to mean well though, so I guess it's just one of her quirks like we all have.🤷‍♀️

It's nice that she liked your gifts of towels, etc.  Maybe you need to get her a set of sheets the next time!

I hope you can freeze your pies!🥧

@geezerette : Thank you. SIL is good and sweet but she tries too hard and extremely sensitive. She doesn't  know how to budget money. In the past  have tried to give her budget  suggestions but stated she knows what to do but difficult when you don't have much money: ok.  She gets her feeling hurt if you don't praise and thank her multiple times for anything she does. I call her extremely high maintenance with emotions.

I researched freezing homemade sweet potato pie: it can be done if wrapped good. I just tasted the pie: it's delicious but the pie crust is very soggy on the bottom. I will just eat the sweet potato part and save a few calories.😃. So not sure about freezing the other pie: maybe just put the pie filling in a freezer safe container. She had a container of cool whip and I put that in the freezer since I don't eat cool whip with my pies.

DH stated sister probably needs another set of sheets and get white so they can be bleached if necessary.

@SouthernBee

You have such a kind and generous heart to help your SIL.

I feel badly for her and her very ill husband.  As long as there is research, someday cancer will be another bad memory in the past.  But until that day...

So generous of you to help out with essentials.  We do not to look far to see people in dire need.

And for all Preds people:

Such a marvelous bunch of kind and caring people.  Each and every one.  What a gift to share friendship across the miles with people who share mutual values.  Who has too many friends?  I admire the talents of you all, in so many areas.  Such a inspiration.

Our washer and drier were ancient and barely chugging along, so we decided to replace.  I can't complain, considering how old they are.  They were delivered and all set up in my pantry/laundry room off kitchen.  Winston goes in often and sits on them.  We got a medium grade.  Santa came early!

I feel badly, hearing bad news about my cousin's wife.  They have lived out west for years, very devoted to each other.  She is now under Hospice care.  But others in family doing fine, and GC are doing well, very busy, involved in so much, and hope to spend time over holiday vacation.  Gave them each a nice check for Christmas.  GS has his BD in January, GD has BD in February.  They are such good kids.

I have been eating so much I do not even dare to weigh myself. Continuing with PT, as I am doing so much better with back pain, and I figure a supreme gift for a big kid of 80.

Will be starting a diet day after Christmas, before my tummy explodes.  Still working on house Cleanout and organization,

and I am done buying stuff I do not need.  I remember, so many years back, when you had to leave home to spend money,  Now it is way too easy.

I am hoping and praying for all Preds people.  May we treasure our friendships for many years to come.  You are all very special people that I wish MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Lubs you all!

@cowboy sam @SouthernBee @geezerette @Yahooey and all

Happy for you, Sam, that you have treated yourself to some nice goodies.  I do hope you enjoy them in good health.

Forgot to tell you all that we had a nice planned visit with the young couple across the street.  The home of the new baby!

Baby has a big brother, age 5, who is a sweetheart.  Very nice young couple who moved in across the street, both working so hard on their first home.

New baby (now 3 weeks old) is, of course, a darling.  I did wait until baby was three weeks old to ask if we could stop by out of consideration for them.  Mom had a C section, very tiny to have a 9 pound baby!  Hubby has family in CT, but her entire family lives very, very far away.  So we arrived with several gifts, big brother included.  And some nice lotions and potions for momma.  And baby clothes for that adorable baby!

Had a sweet talk with big brother, telling him what an important job he had.  To be a big brother is so special. He actually stopped playing with his new toys for a while to listen to me.  Was grinning!  either at my message or at the old lady telling him a story he has heard before!

Maybe I have found a new victim to listen to me!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, once again.

@cowboy sam

Too bad I live so far away not to be of help to you and our

Preds friends who need a ride.

I drive my old Subaru Forester, named Blue Bird, because it "flies."  I have never caused an accident, but I am NOT a slow pokey driver.  One friend once remarked, after I drove us some place, that it was like "Toad's wild rode."  Another friend who I drove around used to keep her hand on the dashboard.

It could be a quick taxi to get PREDS people where they wanted to go.

Anyway, so glad you had a good check-up!

@PamfromCT : Thank you. Delivered yesterday to SIL set of white sheets: slowly "Gifting back to her: the money she gave to us." They will not receive her DH  social security check until about Jan 9th. SIL cleans houses once a week with her daughter and is paid in cash.  She has never worked any where to have taxes taken out.

Enjoy your new washer and dryer.

Grrrrrr......DH had package delivered Friday: Two Christmas tins filled with white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, another box of chocolate covered cherries ,  lemon cake all for me. Then today went to eat lunch with his brother and brought back for me : Two pieces of sweet potato pie. He was mad last night because I wasn't eating anything. I do not want to gain my weight back. I will throw out the sweet potato piece of pie. Putting one tin of cookies in freezer when kids visit in January. I will serve everything else Christmas and insist that church friend take a lot home.😯😯😯🙄🙄🙄

I have the table already set. Table with bags and to go boxes ready. Made 4 gallon bags of ice. Tomorrow will be hectic.

Merry Christmas to you , your DH and family and of course to Mr. Winston.🤗🤗❤❤🙏🙏🙏🎈🎈🎈🎈🎉🎉🎉🎉.Celebrate the reason for the season.
