@cowboy sam @SouthernBee @PamfromCT @geezerette

after my trip - i had the pesky annual physical the following monday (2 days ago)

so i had oatmeal - hard boiled egg - grilled chicken every day

hoping the damage i did which was all buttah - all the time - u gotta eat pastries if they are there

anyway... after the bloodwork - the floodgates opened

i always go with my friend for the physcial - so we pigged out in a buffet

then went to costco - i got a tub of ******e yoghurt - havent had yoghurt for a while

and thought - maybe i should continue on this oatmeal - better eating....

HA!!!!!!

i came home stuffed to the gills from the buffet

had a bowl of yoghurt 7pm + jam (i always put honey - but why not jam?)

at 930pm - i was hungry - made ramen - ate down and went to sleep

temptations all around....

baking has been pared way down - trying to juggle too many balls

my numbers came in - could it be better? yes

much the same as last year - i was afraid it was going to be really bad bc this year -
ate a lot of not so healthy stuff - stress eating when i was washing dishes in the tub even though i know those numbers would not be included

i have been eating oatmeal for breakfast for a while

i think that helped

i really do want to drop some pounds -

it would help - if i didnt stuff cookies and other stuff into my big pie hole

@@Yahooey @cowboy sam :Totally agree and understand. I am trying to enjoy the holidays and not over indulge but DH not helping. Last week he had two packages delivered: He purchased me a box of Chocolate Covered Cherry from Vermont Country store: they were delicious and shared with my friends. The other package included individual bags of: Chocolate Covered Peanuts, Chocolate Covered Raisins, Chocolate Covered Cherry Pieces. Another box delivered this morning from Vermont County Store: Another box of Chocolate Covered Cherries and a box Pecan Divinities.Yes, I had to open the Divinity. I had two pieces. Very delicious and no bad after taste. I have had store purchased divinity before and didn't like it. I really trying to not over indul

Yesterday, I baked two cakes and put them in the freezer and will make the frosting on Monday. One red velvet cake for us and another cake for SIL= her favorite, yellow cake with chocolate fudge frosting.

This morning mixed up ingredients for the cheese straws but I make them like very thin cheese cookies.

So with the New Year will be eating less, more healthier and a lot of exercise. My next doctor appointments start in April. So a few months to correct everything.

I look at the goodies like this--once they're gone, they're gone.  So it doesn't much matter if I eat them all at once or parcel them out (which I never have the self-control to do!☺️).  And once what I have in the house is eaten, I'm not buying anymore so I'll have no choice but to eat better.

But it does seem like every year I have the same New Year's Resolution to eat better and exercise more!🤷‍♀️

I can sympathize with you.  You've done so well in losing weight that you don't want to backslide too much--it's too hard to get off!  You're doing very well resisting.❤️

I am so tired and ready for holidays to be over.

Post office truck in our neighborhood and the back is filled up with packages.

Yes, I'm waiting for the last of my orders to come from UPS today.  When we had the same delivery guy for years packages were always here by noon.  Now, every delivery is a different person and I never know when they'll come.  I don't envy them with so many people ordering things now, but it can get frustrating sometimes.

Another Resolution for me is no more buying (especially ordering) except for essentials.  Not only do I have more than I need, I need to get rid of a lot of what I have.  I also need to watch my pennies more closely and I'm tired of getting mangled packages in the mail!

I don't even do much for the holidays, but I'm ready for them to be over too!  But it's hard to believe that in just a couple of weeks it will be 2025. 😳

Yes, my last packages finally got delivered yesterday late in the afternoon.  I'm done!  No more purchasing for me unless it's a necessity.

It's cold and windy, but sunny here today.  No snow, thankfully.  Forecast is for rain next week starting Christmas Eve and every day beyond.

How nice of you to treat paincake sis and friend to carrot cake.🍰😋  It sounds like you are going to feast at home for a few days.☺️

I'll bet your after dark walk looking at all the Christmas decorations was lovely.  I remember doing that as a kid.  I live in the country, so no lights around me.  A few people have nativities in their yards.  Of course, I don't go out after dark anyway so even if they did have lights I wouldn't see them!😂

You take care and enjoy those tacos!🌮🌮🌮

@Yahooey @cowboy sam @geezerette @PamfromCT : Good afternoon. I am so tired. SIl came today after lunch to exchange Christmas gifts and stayed two hours. She had fruit baskets for us and church friend. I hurt her feelings: Told her please take them back home . We don't want fruit baskets and  she is spending much need money: plus with the house heat on and cooking : the bananas and other fruit will be spoiled by Wednesday and have the house smelling.

She gave me a very cute coupon book from her and will try to make photos later. She gave each of us $130 and would not take it back. She had to cancel her DH exploratory surgery the day after Christmas because she didn't have the $900 deductible and copy pays needed when her DH would be admitted to the hospital. Her DH prostate cancer has returned and with mass on bladder already given about a year to live. DH gave her a Christmas Card with  Check to cover the necessary fees from the both of us.

SIl had her daughter to bake me 2 sweet potato pies and too much since DH doesn't eat them. I need to research if they can be frozen until Wednesday.

Since SIL loves to open packages: I gave her a 7 piece bed set.I had another big box filled with big towels, hand towels and wash clothes, dish rags, dish towels, three sets of pot holders. She stated she desperately. needed everything that was given. I told her: I prefer to give needed necessities instead of stuff. She said she only had one set of sheets: really sad and her DH so sick.
